Default Temping Question

I've been taking my temps at the exact same time every morning every day this cycle and I notice they're jumping all over the place - is that normal?

Could your battery be wearing out? I also used to wonky temps when I had a cold or virus or something like that.

Your temps can be a little crazy during AF....normally it will level out, the closer you get to O. Some women don't even start temping until they are 3-4 days prior to their normal O. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

That is normal before you are getting ready to O, it should level off when you o and be somewhat normal.

How do you tell if the batteries are running low? They may be, it's about 2 years old (though I didn't use it often until I started temping last month.)

I agree with Amy.... even if your temps are a little nuts now... if you're temping at the exact same time every morning then O should be easy to detect when it happens and post O temps (obviously) are far more important than pre O temps.

As far as the battery, if you are going to change it, or buy a new thermometer I'd definitely do it now so you know it's not a factor in your post O temps.

Mine always jump all over the place. I just chalk it up to be hormonal and OLD! (Only kidding) =) Either way, I'm sure you are fine. If you O you will know it when you see the temp rise for over 3 days. If you take any meds or drink the night before your temp could be a little off as well. Even waking up often during the night can change it a bit. But, don't worry about it. Your chart looks just fine.

Looking at your chart, I wouldn't say that your temps are too eratic... after you O you should definately be able to see a clear pattern. Right now they may look as though they're fluctuating a lot, but I think they look pretty good! Keep at it girl, I think you've got the hang-of-it!

On another note, it probably wouldn't hurt to change out the batteries since they are 2 years old.

Thanks ladies! I talked to dh about the thermometer and he said he doesn't think it is that old, I guess I can't remember but he's probably right.

Also my daughter had a fever so high last week we had to take her to the ER and her temp there was the same as it was at home.

If things don't seem right this month, I'll buy a new thermometer next cycle.

Thanks for your words of advice and wisdom
