Soy Isoflavones ???
I am thinking if I get another cycle I am going to try this. I googled it &, found mixed opinions some saying do it, it works &, others saying it can hurt your fertility. For all of you who tried it what was your experience? Judging by my charts should I take it? If so, how much & when? I am planning on taking the following next cycle : soy isoflavones, vitamin c, green tea, prenatal vitamins, evening primrose oil, & baby asprin (I thought I'd give this a try if it interferes with my anemia I'll stop taking it). Now about the baby asprin...when should I take it & how much? I am also going to put dh on some more vitamins. He'll be taking : mens multi vitamin for cell growth, vitamin e, L - caratine, & zinc. Is there anything else he should be taking? Thanks for all your help girls!

Re: Soy Isoflavones ???
I did a lot of research on this, and I was thinking of trying it before I went on Clomid. Soy can work in may ways like estrogen, so there are a lot of people who believe estrogen is bad for your health. There have been no studies really showing any harm in soy (although there are a few organizations that publish data that is not exactly scientific in nature). However, there seems to be evidence (largely anecdotal) that soy works in the same way as Clomid. It blocks the estrogen receptors in the brain, which causes your body to produce more FSH, which stimulates the egg growth and raises estrogen levels. Most will take about 80-150 mg for CD 3-7, and I've heard many people say it improved their O. I'm guessing it isn't as effective as Clomid, but it does seem to work for some, makes no difference for others. I never got to try it myself. I do not believe that soy, in general, is bad for fertility . . . if so, there would not be such a population issue in many Asian countries that have a soy-rich diet. But, that is just my thoughts. I think the bottom line is it may not help, but I don't think it can cause any real harm, especially if you only try it 1-2 months.

Re: Soy Isoflavones ???
To be honest, I don't know anything about any of that stuff. I did want to let you know that when I got pregnant (in Dec.) I was taking Mucinex for a cold. I don't know if it helped me, but I think it might have. Good luck! I hope you don't even have to worry about next month and just get that BFP now!!

Re: Soy Isoflavones ???
I took soy isoflavones because I thought that my slow temp rise after O might have been a sign of a "weak O".
The month I took it I did have a better temp rise after O.
It is only supposed to be taken on certain days of the cycle because it could actually be hurtful rather than helpful if taken too long.

Re: Soy Isoflavones ???
I took it last month on cd 3-7 and I had pink cm during O, but this month (I took it cd 5-9) I had really strong O and more pink CM, and look at my chart this month, I really think it helped me. I had such strong O pains over the course of 3 days, it actually felt like I might have O'd from both sides. I took 3 pills a day, each pill was 60 mg. Good Luck!
