I've never been so shocked to hear results of a test before. I had braced myself for bad news just in case, but I did not see this coming.

My DH had less than 1 million sperm when they did his S/A....
He has been referred to a urologist/specialist, so we'll ge from there. I never would've thought in a million years it would be that low.

I think I've cried every tear I had left and now I don't know what to do. We'll have DH's appt. in about 2 or 3 weeks and until then I'm taking a break from all meds to give my poor body a rest.

So now...I haven't O'd in 8 months and DH has no sperm. Is it just not meant for us to have a baby of our own? This hurts so much...

First - I'm so sorry you are going through this. We have several ladies on this board who are in a similar position - some who even had zero sperm count results. Hang in there . . . take today and cry and mourn - then get on the phone, make those next appointments, and figure out what is next for you two!

The good news is that perhaps they can find some kind of a blockage or retrograde ejaculation and there are options to deal with both of those. The "worst-case" scenario is IVF w/ ICSI - you have PLENTY of sperm for that. I'd also make an appt for an RE in addition to the urologist - an RE will start your treatment plan, discuss your options, etc. If you want to find clinics in your area, check out SART - Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology.

I'm sorry to hear your news about DH's S/A. That must have been a huge shock for you. The only thing that is good about this is that at least you know what the problem is. Some couples go for years and years without any reason why they aren't conceiving and I think that is more hopeless than your situation.

You situation is NOT hopeless! Take heart. There are so many options for you right now. The RE just needs to guide you, find out why DH's count is so low and fix it! Sometimes it's the simplest fix in the world. The S/A could have been worse, so just remember that even though this looks pretty bleak right now, this definitely isn't a dead end!!

I'm so sorry. That is a shock and you have every right to feel this way. But, like Tkeys was saying, all it takes is one sperm for ICSI. Just feel it today and make your plan tomorrow! We're here.

Thanks T...I'm going to make his appt. this afternoon (actually the nurse at my OB office is making it). After we talk to his specialist we'll decide where to go from there. I'm in NO WAY giving up hope at all! I'm just taking this next couple of weeks off with the meds to give my body a break.... since I still haven't started my new cycle, I fugured it would be a good opportunity before we start back up full force. I know that wasn't the news you wanted to hear. There are options and once you see the Dr. I am sure he will come up with a plan. Give your body the break it needs and then you can start any treatments/procedures to help you!! Take care!!
