QOTD- TGIF June 27
Good day everyone on this lovely friday. Hope everyone is well and the weather is nice.
Today's Question is food related cause I haven't had breakfast (8:40am here) and I am starving.
What do you put in your fruit salad? Does it change with the season?

Re: QOTD- TGIF June 27
I try to buy what's in season (for taste and price and a lot of times certain fruits aren't even available if not in season so sort of not by choice)
I'm a fruit person in general so besides kiwi (allergic) i'll eat all of them - although I prefer just cut up fruit as a fruit salad w/ no syrup or anything else added
Had an apple and banana as part of breakfast just now

Re: QOTD- TGIF June 27
Ok I know it is a weird question but I made some fruit salad yesterday and it was so good but made me start thinking.
Right now I put in red delicious apples, peaches and strawberries and sometimes grapes.
In the winter I use apples, oranges, grapes and sometimes white peaches.
I think cantaloupe, watermelon and pears should not go into fruit salad. Just seems too weird for me. I also don't put banana, kiwi or honeydew melon due to allergies.
Ok Ok yes I think way too much about fruit salad but it is so yummy

HOW WEIRD!
I just made a huge fruit salad. DH loves it and eats it every night after dinner.
I always switch it up. I put in it whatever fruit looks good at the grocery. I'll put just about anything in it that can stand up (not apples of course)
The one I just made has:
Watermelon
Strawberries
Pluots
Nectarine
I also make that same one and add honey dew, grapes, and cantaloupe sometimes.

I'm allergic to Kiwis too! They make my mouth itch terribly, but I eat them anyhow haha!
I LOVE plums, grapes, fresh pineapple and strawberries and then I add honey and lime juice as the dressing. You can add apple too, as the lime juice prevents browning. MMMM I think I might make some tonight.... I do add coolwhip sometimes to it too haha.

Re: QOTD- TGIF June 27
:p I would love to eat kiwis but throat gets way too swollen to justify it
And i have to microwave apples before i eat them - if i eat it straight raw same thing happens

Re: QOTD- TGIF June 27
I usually on eat fruit salad in the summer. It's something we've always done..but I think it's due to winter being hard to grow much in New England!
Now then...we only ever use fresh fruit in it..but
Watermelon
Strawberries
white/green grapes
Honeydue melon
blueberries
My mom is one of those wierd people that colors have to be in right proportions, and I've kind of got that from her, so I tend to look at and add fruits based on colors!! I also learned how to take the watermelon rind and make a basket for the bowl..LOL. (Did I mention my mom is super crafty..lol..she made all my wedding flowers and centerpieces...so I get all my oddities from her!!)
