I only usually go to the fair on opening night when most stuff is only $1. me and DH's first thing is getting a smoothie OMG i love them, strawberry banana i had 4 refils. then i have to make sure i get cotton candy, then maybe either a candy/caramel apple or some zeppole's.

If its a fair I do not usually ride the rides the one we have near us has a buisness expo and exhibits where you can buy stuff so we just look around and eat a funnel cake.

I like to get on the ferris wheel....the only ride I am not scared of-haha!! I also like to get a roasted corn and a funnel cake-yum!

I go straight for the roller coasters. I love the big scary rides and I know the lines are always long for those so I get that out of the way while I still have energy to wait in long lines.

If it is an amusement park, we always plan what shows we want and then what rides we want to do first....if it is a carnival or fair, we go straight to the rollercoasters too! I could care less for all the food. I always think it tastes gross....but I do like to steal a bite off of a friend's funnel cake!

Well, when I go to the State Fair, the first thing I go to is the home exhibits where they display all their needlework, quilts, homemade breads, etc. My mom actually one First Place in the State Fair for her cross-stitch, that was so fun.
I used to love all the roller coasters, etc. when I was younger when we would go to the Amusement Park but I have somehow gotten a tad bit cautious for some reason. I don't know if it is because I have children now or what but I don't go on the huge rides anymore. We head over to the kids section and watch the kids have fun. We are boring now.

I love to get a fresh lemonade and a corn dog! then DH and I go and see all of the animals at the fair, followed by rides, followed by walking around the whole fair!

If it is an amusement park, I'm with Amy - I head right to the roller coasters. They are my favorite. I love to go during a week day when there aren't so many people around. I love getting off of the ride, running around to the entrance and getting right back on. I still haven't figured out why they don't let you stay on if there isn't a line.
At a fair (it's been at least 5 years since I've been to one), I usually walk around the vendors and check out the food. I won't go on the rides, they seem too flimsy to me. I always check out the animals too.
At a carnival, I always look for the fresh cut french fries stand. YUM!!
