What is the best April Fool's Day joke you've ever gotten over on someone??

My answer:

I have NEVER gotten one over on anyone!!!! I can't lie very well.

I'd be open to hearing yours though, I'll try one out!

I don't think I've actually pulled April Fools Day pranks, but the best prank I ever pulled was with my office mate back as a summer associate in my law firm days. One of our co-workers had a Mr. Potato Head collection in her office . . . and we kidnapped it! We wrote a ransom note (1 bag of French Fries, 3 baked potatoes, a can of pringles . . . you get the gist). The next morning, we began to mail pieces of Mr. Potato Head back through inter-office mail

She figured out it was us . . . and caught us "red-handed" - we were taping down another piece of Mr. Potato Head to a sheet of paper to mail through inter-office mail again.

Well, my April Fool's Jokes aren't usually nice, but I play them every year. Last year I called my hubby and told him I was in a minor car accident (we had a new car) and that the car was being towed and he had to come and get me. Boy was he hot! He isn't one to let go of work during the day and not including...he is a CAR man! (He has his own baby!) I led him on a bit and then I finally had to break the joke news to him before WWIII broke out.
I know...I'm terrible.
Still thinking of what I'll do this year, but maybe I'll make it a little nicer! NAH! =)

Oh I'm an excellent lier - don't know it's that's a good quality though, well at least it is on April fools day!
I get every one, my Mother isthe best! My DH, well I feel sorry and tell him righ away, but not my mom, she's just too much fun to tell the truth right away!
The best on my Mother was when I was still in school - in South Africa - we were sent home because of a power failure and they couldn't get it back on - they were also worried that it might be a short somewhere and it was safer to send the kids home. This just happend to happen on the 1st of April - how lucky was I?!
Well I was of walking distence from school so I wakled home. I made myself walk fast so I would get home tired. My mom was surprised to see me so early, and a little shocked. I was out of breath (this was true, from fast walking) and tried to explain mom that there was a bomb threat at school and we were sent home (bomb threats in South African schools were very popular before the end of Aparteid, so mom believed me). She pannicked, but I told her I was OK, that I was home now and that nothing was going to happen. The worst thing that could happen was part ofthe school getting damaged but at least I was home, safe and sound with her.
My dad came home and well, of course mom told dad what happend and he came streight to me and the first thing he said was "You got your mother again didn't you?!". I could never fool dad! So dinner time came and my three brother and sisters (who already knew what was going on), the conversation was, no doubt, school bomb threats! After a while I decided, no poor mom, she's gotto know.
I kept saying "Yes, it's hard to believe, isn't it?!" my brother and sisters started laughing and dad patted moms back. She then realised and "Happy April Foold Day!" came out by all of us.

I know it was a harsh thing to joke about - a bomb threat - but hey I was a kid.

With DH, I just tell him small little lies, like: oops I dented the car (he usualy flips on this one); I made a whole in the bathroom floor dropping the scale; I clogged up the kitehen zinc, please would you go and fix it. Ususlly he comes back and sais "but everything's fine", and I give him a kiss and say "well, you really shouldn't believe evrything I say today".

Our one friend is a bit clueless so we routinely have a little fun with her (again not sure if we did it on april 1st but ....)

Anyway we had convinced her that her blinker on her car wasn't working since she was out of blinker fluid. So she drove to autozone, walks in, and a couple minutes comes back out very upset since the guy informed her no such stuff exists.............. :p

AH! Just remembered another one!
Man, I love April Fools Day!
A few years back at my old job...
I worked in an office of about 15 people, so I went in that morning earlier (I made sure I was the 1st), I did a round on every printer in the office (about 7-10 printers can't remember) - I took out the ink cartridges of every single printer!
Then sat by my conputer and waited for my colleegues to arrive. When I knew almost every one had switched on their computers I shouted "No one switch on their printers, I just got a Virus!!" Every one went "What?!". Of course I made sure that every one had their printers ON (I switched them on myself!). They were all hectic and running around. Some didn't believe that a virus could affect the printers so they started printing one by one. Nothing was printed of course. Here they started to worry. The IT guy was called in and I explained I recieved a virus - I would have thought that HE wouldn't believe it, but he did (I then though to myself, maybe there are viruses that affect printers). Haha...
Well, 2 hours went by and would you believe it that no one though of checking the ink cartridges! I thought that 2hours was enough play on a good day for work. So I went to the back room to pretend to work on the photocopy machine and I stumbled on a box full of ink cartridges! "Hey every one look what I found!"
The IT guy was shocked, he started checking the printers and found that neither had their ink cartridges.
Every one was glad that it was just a joke, but it was a mission putting the cartridges back to their rightfull printers. I was the hero of the day and to this day no one knows that their hero was their prankster!

I can never think of anything good....but one year before we were married we went to breakfast with my folks and dh and I were like we have something to tell you guys....we held hands on the table and totally played it up....then my step mom was like "you are married?" I said no....and then my sis was like "you are pregnant?" and my DH and I looked at each other and gave each other a kiss....my step moms face was excited but dad was turning red....my step mom said the whole time she was thinking run Kevin, run! Ha Ha!!! Then we yelled out April Fools and everyone close to us in the restuarant died laughing!

DH got me good this morning....I was in traffic driving to work and he calls and tells me that we are in trouble with Wells Fargo and that our accounts have been emptied. I was like what do you mean and he said "figured it out when his card was declined at the dry cleaners this morning and that is when he called the bank to find out what was going on". I was going into my planning mode because this happened to us about 4 years ago and it sucked but we got all the money back. Anyway...he goes on and on and I am planning on getting to the office and call Wells Fargo to fix it and he yells April Fools...!!!! I fell for it!!! I am so bad at this game.

I need to think of something to do tonight to him.

Chris-I like that one! I think I'll call my hubby at work and do something similar like that to him! He HATES it when I call him about money stuff at work. He stresses out so easily. I love it! On to make my phone call. Thanks for the idea!

We were not TTC yet this time last year. I called my "adopted" mother and told her I was pg. I let it go on for about 5 minutes and I asked her what the date was. She was ready to kill me!!! Her husband went and told everyone I was, just to spite me. I guess he got me instead! What a mess, trying to sort that out!
