This is the first month I actually caught my surge on an OPK and it turned out to be wrong. I felt so confident about this cycle because I thought we timed BD just right and I've had lots of "symptoms" but I guess they were just in my head. I even thought I felt O happening this month, but I guess it was just my mind playing tricks on me. The doc said he would up my clomid to 150mg, but I'm going to ask for 200mg. I guess we'll have to see if that helps. Oh well, now I just have to wait for . What a bummer!!

Praying for a July
I'm sorry Tonya. I know how excited and hopeful you were! Let's just be excited about next month and hope that one gets the results you are looking for!
Okay - here is the deal - you DID ovulate, so that is good. How many DPO were you when they did the test? It is not impossible to get pregnant with a low progesterone like that, but it could also be a sign that the egg was not fully mature. Hang in there - you just never know!
As for the Clomid - hopefully the higher dose will give you a stronger O. Hang in there. I wouldn't jump right to 200 - Clomid can have nasty s/e that can prevent pregnancy from happening, so you shouldn't go any higher than you have to. Also, Clomid kind of has a cumulative effect - the 2nd month usually is even better than the first month at the same dosage because of the "residual" Clomid in your system.
Don't give up hope for this cy, be glad that you DID ovulate, and it is good that you have a plan for next cy, too!
TKeys, so you think I DID ovulate?? The nurse told me I didn't... I would LOVE to think I did, so that's great...even if it's just a little hope! I was only 2 or 3dpo (not sure which) when I tested, and I asked the nurse if I should wait and she said no (she wasn't my normal nurse). I was wondering if that would affect it...would it??? I guess I won't give up hope then.
I'll keep praying about it!

Yes, you did ovulate. There are different standards, but generally any number over 5 indicates ovulation, but "normal" ovulatory activity is over 10, and over 12 is preferable for sustaining a pregnancy. Some drs will say 2-5 indicates some ovulatory activity, but there is basically no chance of a mature egg in that range. I had a friend get pg with only a 7.8 progesterone level. So, between 5-10 is kind of a "grey" area - you ovulated, but the egg may not be sufficiently mature for proper fertilization and implantation, but it *could* be.
FertilityPlus: Hormone Levels & Fertility Bloodwork
A progesterone test is done to confirm ovulation. When a follicle releases its egg, it becomes what is called a corpus luteum and produces progesterone. A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy. Some say the test may be more accurate if done first thing in the morning after fasting.
Another thing I found online:
Progesterone levels can vary from laboratory to laboratory. The level can also vary from morning to afternoon and even drop 50 percent after a meal. Unfortunately, most physicians are not aware of this fact and do not advise their patients to check levels early in the morning and while fasting. Any level over about 2 or 3ng/ml likely indicates ovulation. A fasting a.m. blood progesterone level over 10ng/ml in our lab indicates normal follicular development and ovulation.
Oh - I just saw that you were 2 or 3 DPO, too - that is kind of early to test progesterone, too. Progesterone levels peak at 7 DPO, and the numbers they give for "normal" are to be compared with 7 DPO. Usually, you will be able to tell if your number is "normal" if you test from 5 or 6 DPO until 8 or 9 DPO, but they can be low if you test too early or too late. So, if you were at 5.9 at 2 or 3 DPO, you could have been even higher at 7 DPO . . . maybe even high enough to fall within the "normal" range. Your progesterone is definitely a little low for 7 DPO, so increasing your dosage next month is probably not a bad idea.
