I am 28 years old and DH is 31 years old. We've been TTC our 1st since June 2007. I actually stopped BCP at the end of April but didn't really count May as "trying". It's been a rocky path. I have to admit though, it got much easier once I realized that there's absolutely nothing wrong about it taking more than a few months, it is actually the norm.
I read these stats recently which might make your DH feel more at ease. I read (on a couple different medical sites) that:
Of all couples who are having unprotected sex:
25% of them will be pregnant within 4 months
75% of them will be pregnant within 8 months
90% of them will be pregnant within 1 year
So you see... getting a
on your first cycle is VERY rare. My doctor said "Go into it thinking it will take 18 months, then if it happens earlier, great"
