Icon5 **Ovulation after Trigger** HELP

Question Ladies--- I had a IUI on Sunday and the Dr that was on call doing the IUI’s that day hurt me and made me sore inside when he had a hard time with the specula—so I haven’t been able to BD as much as I normally would.. I talked to my Nurse and told her that I was concerned because I was sore and not able to have intercourse in case it was missed with my IUI on Sunday—she told me not to worry because since I took the HCG on Friday, that I was to ovulate 36-48 hours and then my IUI on that Sunday, and my window to conceive was now over…?? So my question is, does the HCG trigger shot guarantee you to ovulate in that time frame?? Last time we were BD all week long... so I guess Im a little confused... I guess I don’t know how the trigger really works and does it guarantee to release the egg in that time frame? I had a pretty big follicle on that Friday.. 23.6mm on the right and 15.1 on the left and Im sure that it grew in time for the IUI on Sunday… Sorry Im rambling—I just need some answers or explanation..

I've heard it pretty much happens in that window / time-frame - i always worry about that too though so I can understand your concern

I think it's pretty sure to happen in that time. I was told to BD that night and the next morning to be safe. After that I don't think it mattered...

I'd say the possibility of you Oing later isn't as high as you Oing early. Keep in mind the doc you are seeing is a specialist and does this procedure all the time. I'm sure the timing was perfect! =)
I'm sorry you are sore! I hope you feel better. AND...I hope you caught the egg(s)!

I always worry the timing is off also and FF always shows my O as 2 days after the IUI. But, I have gotten a BFP twice now and since we have to use DS there really is no chance that BD is doing it the RE must know what he is doing!

The hcg works like an LH surge - it really does make you ovulate 36-48 hrs max (usually 36-40 hrs after). I've often had a hard time believing it, but even when the temps are confusing, it really does work like they say. So, you just have to push aside those feelings, and trust that it will be okay! Even if you O on the later side, you are WAY passed the window at this point, so I really wouldn't worry.
