Boy, my kids can be too cute! I was teaching and wrote the wrong thing on the board. I am always pointing out that I make mistakes too. I said "everyone makes mistakes."

One of my BOYS starts singing the Hannah Montana song - he sang "everyone makes mistakes, everyone has those days." Then the majority of the class started singing the song! It is so funny how they get into these shows!

I teach K too! I love their personalities at this time of the year! They actually get my jokes. I hear some of them using my non-sense words like: fiddle faddle, lollygag, ARRGH! like a pirate sound.

Oh I'm sure if my DD was in your class she would have been leading in that song!! She's 5 and LOVES LOVES LOVES Hannah. In fact, she's in dance and that's what they're doing their 'jazz' number to. Ha! She starts Kindergarten this Fall and I'm SOOO not ready!!

You're counting down too??? How many students do you have? I have 22 - 11 boys and 11 girls. Do you have all day or half day? We have all day. I started my first year as half day and then switched to full day my second year. This is now my fourth year teaching. I LOVE all day so much more. We get so much done!

Sorry for all the questions. I'm the only Kindergrten teacher in my building, and I love to see what others have/do. I kinda do my own thing, which is nice, but it would also be nice to have someone else to talk to about what's going on, being taught, etc.

Trinity - So many parents are not ready for their child to go to Kindergarten. I've had parents tell me they cry at home after their child leaves on the bus. I'm sure she'll have a blast and you'll enjoy hearing all her stories.

Jess, that is so cute. I substitute mainly Elementary. The things kids these days say...hilarious. Some things they shouldn't say, but then you just have to remind them. I know I told this story, but about 2 months ago I was substituting for a Kinder class. There was this little boy Brody, who reminded me of a mini Eminem-looked just like him with little baggy pants and the hair. Anyways he was singing some popular song, can't think of the name right now, but it is a rap song. And then I asked him, what other songs he liked and he said "I Like Big Butts and I Cannot Lie". I couldn't help myself I was kinda shocked and I laughed, but then i was like "ok, let's not repeat that again". HaHa. Needless to say, he was the class clown ALL day.

Hi ladies...I have tons upon tons of stories as well. I taught first grade for 5 years and high school for 2. I used to tell my kids stories like I was an opera singer, tap dancer, famous actress (my maiden name was Bullock and I resemble Sandra depending on her look for the year). Anyway, my first year teaching I told a little girl Chelsea that I had been a famous tap dancer and I clogged around the classroom like a nut. The next day she came in and told me her mom said I wasn't. I questioned her and she said," If you were famous, then you'd have lot's of money and wouldn't be a teacher." I responded with, "Maybe I am rich and I just really like teaching." She then had a come back of, "Then why do you tell us you aren't going to buy our supplies!"
I couldn't believe it. I had a good answer too, but the story really ends there in the humor department. Needless to say, she was that one student that sort of got on your nerves all the time. AND YES>..I know all of you have one of those! If not, you are quite lucky!
