Default o/t does anyone know..

The glands in my armpits are swollen and sore. I'm thinking allergies because I've been sneezing like crazy lately. It was only one side that was swollen for the past week and now the other side started hurting this morning. When I was younger, I remember it happening and panicked because I thought I had cancer. I showed my mom and she just said sometimes your glands get swollen. This is the worst they've ever been and the longest it's lasted. Anyone have any experience with this? I figured if it's still swollen by Aug. 1st, I'll make a dr's appt.

Hi Jess! I've had my armpits and other glands get swollen when I have allergies or get sick, but its usually only for a day or too...Its probably nothing and probably how your body reacts but maybe go in at the end of the week if it doesn't go away? Hope you feel OK!

Sorry to hear that Jess. You probably have an infection somewhere and your swollen lymph nodes are a sign of it. It could be related to the allergies (sinuses maybe?) you're having. They shouldn't last longer than a week, I would think. Maybe call your dr and speak with a nurse who can tell you how long to wait. P had some not too long ago behind her ears on her skull. I freaked out thinking she had tumors on her head, but nope, just swollen lymph nodes and they said they should go down in a week. A long week, but they did and she was fine. Good luck to you.

The problem with calling my dr is I don't exactly have one...The family dr I had been going to closed her office and I haven't found a new one yet. I don't get sick to warrant a dr often and when I do, it's usually strep and has always started on a Saturday, so I just go to the ER. So, if this doesn't go away, I'll have to find a dr.
