New to this and have some questions....
Hey there.... My wonderful suedo-sister-in-law convinced me to register here because I'm TTC. I just had some questions, and was hoping someone could help me. I am a week late, my temperature is dropping, my cervix is high and hard.... I took a cheapo preg test several days ago, and it was a BFN, and wasn't planning on taking another one until Friday. I have noticed that I get very nauseated after eating ANYTHING. What are the odds that I may be pregnant????

Re: New to this and have some questions....
Hmm...well it certainly could be pregnancy. And unfortunately it certainly could NOT be pregnancy.
How long have you been off birth control? What did you use?
Any other symptoms? Do you know for sure when you ovulated?
My name is Mandy, by the way I'm one of the hosts on this particular board. It's so great to have you here. I look forward to getting to know you better.
Hanging out with these girls makes the insanity of TTC a little easier to handle.
 to you.
Here is a link that might help you since you're new to the board. I'v referred to it many times in the past!

Re: New to this and have some questions....
Hello there and welcome! My first question would be, Did you just go off the pill? Usually you can be late when you are starting your first month withpit BCPs. I know I was by almost 2 months. If not, is your body weight up to par? If you are thin, you could find that you are not ovulating as you don't have enough fat. This is sometimes true with overweight women as well . I do not know much about your history, but if you are not getting a positive at a week late, it is either another factor (such as an anovulatory cycle) or you just don't get positives on HPTs. (I have a friend that has been preggo twice and never gotten a positive on one, but just a thought!)
I hope this helps and we look forward to getting to know you better!
Best wishes!

Re: New to this and have some questions....
I'm the co-host of this board with Mandy - we are thrilled to have you here.
As for what is going on - Mandy covered it well. It could be pregnancy . . . or not. Knowing your cycles really helps - sometimes we think we are "late" but it turns out we just O'd late one month, so AF arrives later. Hang in there . . . and I hope you get a on Friday.

Nice to meet you, Mandy! I'm Mandi, too, but with an I. Thank you so much for responding! I quit taking my BCP about 2.5 months ago. I was taking Seasonique. I had my last (.) the last week of February, but it only lasted for two days and was very light. Hopefully I'll know SOMETHING by Friday!

Hi there! Thank you for responding! I quit taking the pill about 2.5 months ago. I am thin, but not unhealthy thin... (At least I don't think so! 5'3", about 115 lbs.) I'm hoping to know SOMETHING by the end of this week. If not, I guess it's time to see a doctor! Thanks again!!!!

Re: New to this and have some questions....
Hi Mandi, welcome to the board!
I think a blood test would be best than POAS, it's more accurate and it it's a BFN, you'l be 100% sure about it, then you'll just have to go check up with your Doc.
I remember when I stopped BCP, AF came for 3 days, the 2nd AF came only ONE day and it was 5 days late! I went to the my Gyn and she found that everything was OK - not pg but there was nothing wrong.
Oh and I also felt a little sick with some foods in the frst 2 months when I stopped BCP, but it passed. And pains, oh boy was Oing painfull - this is much better now. My Gyn said that when I stopped BCP, my hormones changed and by whole body became more sensitive, and it was just geting used to living with out BCP - it's like a drug, when you get off it you ache to have it back!
Good luck and welcome, you're gonna love these ladies!

Thank you so much for the info! It's good to know a little bit about the "after effects" of BCP... I'm still hoping for a BFP, but if I get a BFN, I won't be as concerned!
