Ok, so I am on the fifth day of my Provera for a 10 day prescription. I am currently spotting pretty heavily. How do I take this? Is this residual bleeding from the miscarriage? Is it normal to bleed on Provera? Will this affect my chances of starting a new cycle with my Clomid and getting started all over again?

I hate working late on a Friday and not being able to call the Dr. until Monday!

Thanks girl! If it is , I need to figure out ASAP only because I will need to start the Clomid!! Oh TTC can be so difficult!!

On a side note, I saw on the stats thread that you didn't think Clomid was working right for you. Just a side note that you may O later on Clomid than normal. Probably frustrating for someone who was Oing before, but just didn't want you to give up hope. I didn't O until CD 16 my first round!!

Jeanie, hope you get some answers/the bleeding stops and are able to move on to Clomid soon-gotta love that med huh? I am having headaches and hot flashed bad this cycle. My 6th round. Ughhhh and my RE said since I am doing good on it may try one more. Let's hope I don't need it.

i took provera to start on my first cycle but i only took it for 5 days and came 5 days after my last pill. what day are you starting the clomid? i started on day 5.

I'm supposed to take Clomid CD 3-7. I"m just trying to figure out if this is AF or just bleeding from the m/c.

Thanks for the information about Clomid. It is frustrating for someone who O's regularly on their own. I am usually getting a high on my monitor and a positive OPK by now, so I get a little impatient. I know that Clomid may take a little longer to have the effect on my cycle that it should have. Hopefully I will O soon and forget about the hot flashes! LOL

Does the meds say anything about spotting while taking it?

I have idea but I would think if it is af and you call the doc on Monday you could still work out the timing I took clomid days 5-9 before so I hope it works out for you sorry I could not be more help!keep us posted!

I thought Provera was supposed to bring on your period so I would say if you are bleeding it is AF. Good luck to you this cycle.

Were you bleeding before you started Provera? If not then I would consider this AF. I've taken Provera twice but each time was for 5 days...

I did have some spotting before the Provera, but thought I was pretty much done with it. It's lessened this morning, so maybe it's not really her! I still have 5 more days of Provera, so hopefully it will be a different story next week!

Hi Jeanie, I took provera a few cycles ago when I was diagnosed w/ PCOS and AF wouldn't come! If I remember right, I started AF before I was done with it, too, like on day 7 or 9. If it keeps going I would say its AF...is there a nurse's line you can call for your doc or insurance? Sometimes they have good answers, sometimes they dont. At least you know if its not AF, that AF is just around the corner! Keep us posted!

I would see if there is an on call nurse you can ask.. Before I was diagnosed with PCOS a different Dr put me on Provera. It stopped my bleeding for only 1 day and then the 2nd day it was worse then every. It was a 10 RX but I only took it for 6 b/c I was bleeding so heavily. She had told me it would stop my bleeding and when it didn't I figured there was not point in putting unnecessary hormones in my body if they aren't even working . So I would deffinately try and call an on call nurse to see if they can help or talk to your Dr on monday.

Thanks for all of the advice ladies. The bleeding has slowed down and (TMI warning) it's mostly darker with a few clots, so probably old stuff! I only have 3 more days of the Provera, so hopefully I will see soon When did it become so excited to see the ugly witch?
