Hi ladies. I need some imput. Okay first, a little background on me. I have 28 day cycles with O occuring on the 14th day. It's been that way since I started having cycles at 13 and has not differed, even after three children. DH and I decide that we will try for our 4th and final baby in July. Ever since then I've been mentally keeping track of my cycles. I am not an avid charter, I've never used OPK's, I've never temped, I just know the length of my cycles and the day I O.
So this is what's going on. I started having cycles again just 6 weeks after giving birth.(Yeah it sucks pretty bad! ) And I noticed that even when I was not supposed to be ovulating, I was having MASSIVE amounts of EWCM. So much that I would have to wear a panty liner. I assumed it was just my hormones, and that eventually it would dwindle off. Eventually it stopped when I wasn't supposed to be O'ing, but now, everytime I O I have TONS of it. It's really, really embarassing. I have to wear panty liners and change them out about twice. ~*TMI*~ I can actually "feel" it, there's so much. Not only that but, I've also noticed that instead of it being completely clear like it used to be, it's a milky color. I've never had this before. The large amounts of EW, and the different color is really throwing me off. Is it possible that there is a problem. I don't think it's infection. As there is no smell, and it's not yellowish or anything like that. This has been going on for a while. And it's starting to kind of freak me out. WTH is going on with my body..............any insight would be welcome. Or am I just crazy?? Thanks a million ladies.
I don't really have any insight other than CONGRATS!!! I mean is there ever a such thing as TOO MUCH EWCM??? HA! If there is no odor then I would think it is fine. Sorry...don't have much advice.
Hmmm. Perhaps this isn't the best place to get the MOST answers... I would post this question on the TTC Baby # 2, 3, 4 etc. boards and see if anyone else is going through the same thing??
I would think that everyone's body is different and maybe your body is just doing things differently now. As far as it being milky in color, I'm not sure if that effects TTC or not. I'm sorry, but most of us haven't had any kids yet to compare with.
We call that "the snots" on my other board. It seems to actually be more common after a new baby during anovulatory cycles. I'd suggest buying one of the cheap packs of dip-stick OPKs to verify that you are really Oing. I remember having a lot of the snots for maybe the 3-4 cycles before I started actually Oing. My cycles were the same length as they had always been pre-pregnancy, but when I started actually charting, I realized I really wasn't ovulating for most of them. It took until 14 months PP for me to get my first real positive OPK (I got PPAF at 9 months), and even then it wasn't every cycle.
Well, it could be your hormone levels have changed a bit - maybe higher estrogen levels? I wouldn't worry so much about it. I get really heavy EWCM - it can be so embarassing. It is also possible you have an infection - you can get it checked out, just in case. They have these at-home test kits you can buy at the drug store, too.
Thank you so much ladies. You really gave me some good insight. I'm Currently trying to find a midwife. We just moved so it's like I'm starting all over again in that department KWIM. Anyway, as soon as I find one I like, I'm making an appointment to make sure everything is a "go!"

"The snots" HAHAHAHAHA!! Unfortunately, the description is quite accurate! I suppose I'm going to have to get some OPK's. But, I'm totally confused on when to test. So far I've read that you may have a negative in the morning, but get a positive in the afternoon.................
I'll have to read up on it some more. Can you tell I'm a total novice!.
Thank you so much, you were very helpful! And it's nice to know that I'm not the only one.
I was wondering if maybe you had an idea as to why the color is milky as opposed to clear???? Any ideas?
If it really stretches as good as ewcm, then it is just ewcm with more proteins and other bio matter in it. Still just as good as ewcm. If it is a little thicker and more like snot than the clear thin ewcm, then it counts as "creamy" and isnt quite the same thing even though it has some stretch and is still a lot like real egg whites.
I take OPKs starting a few days after AF and in the early afternoon (right after my son goes down for his nap usually), then I start to get sort of a fade-in where the line starts getting a little darker for a couple days. When that starts, I start using then twice a day until I get a positive. It seems like everyone is different with that though. When I wasn't ovulating the line never got past half-dark. Once it got almost as dark, but I think I did actually ovulate that cycle (very late) and just missed the full surge.
I wenting looking for CM types on the web and actually found some pics which also helped me to determine CP. Just google My Beautiful Cervix and it's under Amazing Photos. These are GRAPHIC and actual picutres of a cervix during a 1 month cycle. Hope this helps.
Wow, very graphic but very helpful. Mine looks like the 2 photo of the one she has stretched between her fingers. I also noticed last night that it is streaked with blood.................
That's happend a few times before but I don't know if its' normal or not. Bad or good. Any insight?
VERY good! BD BD BD! The EWCM streaked with blood is a huge sign of ovulation for many women. I'vr never had it myself, but I've never been very fertile. heh
What if you don't have hardly any or none at all? Are you still fertile??

I'm glad the pics helped I was worried they might be to racey the forum. I'm really not prudish or anything but try not to offend anyone either.
Are you using OPK's to help track O?
Just because you don't have a lot may not mean that your aren't fertile. My EWCM is never that much or that strechy, (it's usually more watery) but I got pg with my son naturally, so I'm guessing my little was enough.
