I am going to sound like a completely insensitive, mean, nasty person here, but I need to vent a little bit.
A friend of ours who has 2 children is currently pregnant. This particular person is a shop-a-holic (I am not joking when I say this, she has to attend meetings for it). She and her husband have mountains of debt. He did not want a third child at all. And she got pregnant intentionally... and then quit her job as a waitress because it was too stressful, compounding their debt and financial problems. Oh and let's not forget their marriage is in serious trouble.
This is just another in a long series of friends who have so easily become pregnant, on purpose, when their relationship and their finances are in poor condition. And it's driving me crazy!!!!
Another friend who has a quarter of a million dollars of debt and only makes about $60,000 combined income with her husband underwent IVF to get pregnant which added another ten grand to their total debt. And then of course the baby has added lots more expense when they couldn't afford the bills they had before!
Dh and I are far from perfect (in fact, last summer we had major problems), but with even with our problems, our marriage is now more solid than ever before. We are both much more committed and much more realistic about our marriage (possible divorce really has a way of removing those rose-colored glasses). We are much more financially stable than ever before. And yet I can't get and stay pregnant!!
This is soooo unfair.
I think this is just me being hormonal and moody, but I am just so upset by it all right now.
