Hi all -
I'd love to join you all as this seems to be a very supportive board! I am Andrea, mom to two dd's - Katie is five and Julia is 20 month old. I am 40 years old (yep, probably the oldest on this board now - sigh). I always thought I would be done by now, but dh and I still talk about having one more. I have decided to give it a try for a bit and see what happens - I figure, if it's meant to be, it'll happen. Unfortunately, my cycles seem to have changed since my younger dd was born (heavier AF, some spotting, slightly shorter in length), so who knows if it will work out?? My OB rec's BC (pill or Mirena IUD) to address the heavy AF if I don't TTC, so I need to make a decision soon as this has become a major annoyance! I am trying to temp, but it's pretty tough with two kiddos who don't sleep well. I will probably use the IC OPK's I bought for this cycle and then use my CBEFM next (need to get new sticks) to track my cycle. I look forward to getting to know you all!
Welcome Andrea. I am happy to hear you and dh want to try for another one. I feel like I will be that way when I get older, especially when you start to think that you may not be able after a while. I wish you the best of luck. I just bought my CBEFM and I hope it helps to catch the egg this time. Are you and dh hoping for a boy this time?

Andrea! I'm Trinity and I'm also a mom to a five year old DD...going on 15 OMG! My aunt just had her 6th DS and she's 46....and my other aunt had her DS at 40, so it's not impossible! I'm 32 (oh, had to think about that one for a second!) and will be 33 in two weeks. Yikes! Hope your stay here is short, yet informative!! Ask away, everyone is a wealth of info....and we do get a little saucy sometimes! LOL
Welcome Andrea. Glad you have decided to join us. Don't worry about your age. There are a wide range of ages here!! I'm 37 ttc #2 so I am right behind you! =)
Hi and welcome! This is a great board to be a part of, full of kind and clever (and sometimes a little crazy) ladies.
I've had trouble temping in the past also due to my son waking during the night. He's almost 14 months old and it's usually a tossup as to whether he'll sleep the night or not, and what ungodly hour of the morning he will choose to be up, all bright-eyed and bushy tailed, meanwhile mom is croaking out a "shhh, please go back to sleep for just a few more minutes . .." Anyway I just did my best to get 3 hours of sleep before temping and tried to make it around the same time each morning and I found that a bit of variance here and there didn't mess me up too badly.
Good luck!! I hope your stay here is short and sweet.
Mary Beth- On a side note. I was talking to dh about baby names and I am so in love with your son's name. I think partly because Kian is so freaking adorable. I just want to pick that boy up and squeeze him. KWIM. Anyways I said what do you think about the name Kian. And he said " No son of mine is going to have a new age hippy name" What the crap. I was so mad at him. He said he wants a normal name and not some of these "new" names that people are using these days. =(

Hey - thanks everyone! I hope you all get BFP's very soon! Nice to see some other "older women" on here!
Amy - I think dh would love a boy (although he'd be fine with another girl). I am really OK with either one. I loved using my CBEFM - it really helped me pinpoint O time.
Tkeys - I did have testing done by my OB's office including bloodwork, pelvic u/s, and an endometrial biopsy - all came back normal. Old age seems to be the issue - blah! Congrats on your pg - how are you feeling?
Mary Beth - I'll try to temp. even without the 3 consecutive hours of sleep - half the time I am out of bed before I remember (I am on CD 11 right now and only have one temp on my chart). I need to get back in the habit!
Ack -Gotta run - I'll try to start posting more on this board. Again, I am looking forward to getting to know you all better!
Glad to hear the tests came back normal - when my AF got heavier and I started spotting, it was a sign that I had a small fibroid in my uterine lining. I had that removed back in October, and I think it made a difference for us.
Amy - LOL at what your hubby said. Well first of all, thanks for the compliment on the name AND the squeezability of my son He is quite the squooshy.
I laugh though because, Kian is so not a new-age hippy name, makes me chuckle a bit at your hubby's expense It's a very very old irish name, really. And it's quite common in England/Ireland/Scotland.
Anyway I'm glad you like his name Hubby came up with it so I can't really take the credit, but I just loved it because it IS unique and not common, but not weirdo either (imho ). I want all of our kids to have names that they will be very unlikely to run into amongst friends and acquaintances, but not trendy-weird, ya know.
