I'll take one HSG please. Anyone Else?
Hey Tkeys- Please add this to the appt sticky. My HSG is scheduled for Monday, June 30th at 1:15pm!! BRING ON THE !!!
Anyone else having one in the next week or so?!?! Let's be HSG buddies!
Oh, and my doctor's instructions were to take the rest of the day off after the procedure, no food or drink 2 hours beforehand, not to take ANY drugs (even o/t/c ones...OUCH) and I can drive myself home. See, another whack-job dr. with a different set of instructions! Oh well, I wouldn't care if I had to stand on one leg for 20 minutes before and after the test while singing "Old McDonald Had a Farm", I would do it in a heartbeat if I thought it would help!! HA!

Re: I'll take one HSG please. Anyone Else?
I totally disagree, definitely take 3 motrin an hour ahead of time...the whole take the day off thing is really up to you. It was exactly like a pap for me. No cramping or pain or anything afterwards, just wear a pad.
I hereby induct you into the Instead Cup and HSG CHALLENGE!!!
GOOD LUCK!! The HSG seems to have worked for me!

Re: I'll take one HSG please. Anyone Else?
Hey all. I'm popping in cause I was up tossing my cookies for the 2nd time in a couple days at 3:40 am.
But anyway. I was strictly instructed to take it easy after my HSG. The assistant repeated it 5 or 6 times during the HSG. And then the 3 doctors I ended up having do it repeated it several times. I'm not sure if it was because mine was so rough or what but she did say take it easy before they started. I'd take the medicine even if your doc instructed you not to. For me it was nothing like a pap smear. Pap smear = a little burning down under. HSG = full out AF-like cramps and PAIN. But again I might have been different. And I didn't listen to the docs and that night when I pushed it the cramps came back so I'd definetly suggest just chilling that day and take the meds.
Welll I'm going to crash again. Best wishes.
Oh, congrats Leah. Hope I can join you as an HSG winner... we'll see.

Re: I'll take one HSG please. Anyone Else?
Definately take some meds beforehand, IMO. I had my HSG over a year ago and I remember it as if it were yesterday. My dr didn't give me any instructions, but I wish he would have. As soon as I got up to go out to my car I got sick to my stomach and had so much pain. I almost couldn't drive home and was sick the rest of the night. Mine took longer than normal and the dr left the speculum (sp) in and I tried to sit up......talk about OUCH! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I'd love to be HSG buddies. I'm just waiting for AF to make her official arrival so I can schedule my appt. The way I'm feeling that should be any second now .
It's not like I'm looking forward to this procedure but so many ladies seem to get good news following it. I say come on HSG give us our .

Re: I'll take one HSG please. Anyone Else?
Thanks everyone for the info!! I have to be at the hospital 45min before the procedure, so they might give me something while I'm waiting, if not I will definitly bring some meds with me and ask to take it then, if they tell me no, I will ask why, and then depending on if I like their reason, I will probably take it anyway! haha. Just call me a rebel. hahahaha
