Icon10 I tried the instead cups!

I went shopping tonight & found them right next to the pads. They are bigger then I thought they would be. I decided to do a test run after I got home. They are very easy to use. I think it would be a little hard to lose them! It was weird I was thinking it would take some work, but I just put it in & it opened up like an umbrella! I am excited to try these. Dh thinks I'm crazy he said "Is there anything you women won't try?! I said no, I think we'll try anything at this point!

I watched Juno tonight. I cried! It was similar to our situation except the father is gone & dh & I are still in love! At the end where she got baby....I cried & when the Dad told her she'd be back her someday I cried! It was such a good movie! Dh thinks it's a chic flick & doesn't want to watch it.

I just thought I'd mention for everyone & our newbies...anything I make is up for grabs including the stuff in my siggy. You are welcome to my blinkies & graphics if you like...I am not stingy!!!! I'll be adding my link back to download the stuff.

I told my DH about them and he said "Go get some tomorrow. We should try that!" Isn't it funny how different our husbands' reactions are? hehehe

Awesome news, Pamela. I was wondering how difficult it was going to be. Can you actually feel it "Securing itself" behind your pelvic bone? Can you feel it when it's in? Have you tried to take it out yet? SO MANY QUESTIONS!! LOL

Yes, I'm curious about the taking it out part too. Let us know if that was easy as well.

One other thing, did you try it lying in bed or in the bathroom? I figure we're going to have to insert it while lying on our backs.

Way to be our test dummy Pamela. I can't put anything in my vagina until Dr. tells me it is okay so I haven't been able to try them yet. I'm glad they aren't too difficult!!

Pamela, glad you didn't have any problems with them. They're good for 'sexy time' too when AF is visiting! LOL

Katrina-
I've used them before and as long as you push it far enough in, you won't feel it. Just like a tampon. They are easy to take out. The plastic rim is pretty thick so it's easy to grab a hold of it with your finger & pull. If you flex your Kegles (sp?) you will help it out if you have trouble. Just stay relaxed. If you're tense it will be more difficult. I've used the Ring for BC and that is more difficult than the Instead as there is less to grab onto (but totally awesome when you want BC!!).

Trinity - I had the ring for BC as well. Boy isn't that fun going fishing for that thing. I made dh get it out for me one time when I couldn't get it. LOL. He was a little grossed out by it, but he got the job done. I love not worrying about taking a pill everyday at the same time. Just pop the ring in and forget about it for 3 weeks.

SFAM again!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ring. Best thing ever for BC. Pills made me too moody, and yes I would forget. Plus I was on the '4 periods a year' plan. Freakin awesome!!! Yes, I would commission DH to find it and insert it sometimes too. Hey, it's the least he can do!! I just have to remind him that we women have to squeeze a HUMAN out of our Va-jay-jays...he can help a sister out!! LOL

I was laying on my back in after bd position when I put it in. It was easy to put in. It slid right in. I put it back behind my pelvic bone & then I sat up to see if I could feel it & I couldn't! Then after a few minutes I went to the bathroom & took it out. It came right out. I just put my finger in a little & grabbed the ring part & it popped right out! I was say it's as easy to use as a tampon. I even felt around in there while I had it in to see how close it was to my cervix. It covered everything & was right there! I think these will do wonders for us!

I would say there is nothing to be afraid of! I can't wait! I got my opks today, my preseed will be here next week, & I have my cups! I am ready!!!!!!!!

Great Pamela. It always feel good to be all prepared for O. I really hope that we have better luck with our cups than we have had in the past. I'm so excited to get back to TTC.

I have to agree that it was super easy. I just got a box at Wal-Mart tonight and tried it out already. It was super easy. We're going to BD tonight and I'm going to try to use it...I'll let you know what I think.

I bought a small box at the grocery store tonight and DH and I BDed. I put it in after and I can see how it pushes the semen up against the cervix. However, warning to those of you with VERY tilted uteruses/cervixes (mine is retroflexed and not just retroverted)... Once the back end locks in (which it does very easily), it is quite difficult to lock in the front. I had to work at it for quite a while from a few angles and my wrist cramped up trying to get the position just right. I suspect it is because of the abnormal location and angle of my cervix, but it could be something else too. Not sure. I also noticed that it is a LOT bigger than I expected and I am pretty tight so that may have been an issue too.

We'll be using them now through O-time this cycle (which should be in 3-4 days based on my temp trends so far. :-) Our issue isn't DH's guys getting to the eggie though but my quickly diminishing P post-O and thus very short LP. I have been taking B6 for months though and will be using OTC P-cream at least if my GYN never gets back to me (I am so ticked off about that still) so I can get sups in time. *fingers crossed*

Well, I'm glad you all are having an easy time of the Instead cups, I wonder why I had so much trouble? Mine really got wedged in there good! Maybe it is cause I have a tilted uterus. Glad it is working out for all you girls!! GOOD LUCK!

Amy- Not even a circus midget?

Trinity- Good to know that you can't feel it. I know what you mean about panicking when you're trying to take things out of the jayjay. I've panicked before trying to fish out a broken condom, KWIM? Deep breaths....deep breaths...

Pamela- I was wondering about how snug it was to the cervix. This is excellent news!!!

OMGSH LADIES.... I just have this feeling we are going to have alot of 's in our near future! I can't wait to see if these things really do the trick!

Okay, so used it last night after bd, the next morning it was still a little hard to get out, I had to lie down and get my finger really under the rim, that was easier than sittin' on the toilet, overall it was easier than the other times I've used it, but I'm glad DH didn't come into the bedroom as I'm laying on the floor trying to pull that thing out of me ROFL!!

I decided I'm not going to put my legs in the air and on a pillow and all that, cause that may not be helping me with the whole tilted uterus thing, so I just put the Instead in and laid normally and then even got up to pee about 5 mins later, I figure keeping still and elevated hasn't helped, so, I'm not doing all that this month, I'm just going to drink TONS of water and use the instead cups and my FertilAid! GOOD LUCK THIS MONTH CHALLENGE GIRLS!

Thanks for all the updates girls. I still can't put anything in my vjay yet until the Dr. clears me. I may be trying out the instead cups right at the crucial time, but I am super excited to get going!!!

OMG I want in on this, but I have never heard of anything like that in the UK (except for moon cups but they sit low in your v and wouldn't hold anything near the c. Will have to do some digging and see if I can get some shipped over here. Let me know if you find a retailer who ships to the UK.
