So today's actual u/s shows a bunch of little follicles but nothing anywhere close to the size they want to see to trigger

Now i get 5 more days of clomid (not what i wanted and i guess i should have said something but for whatever reason i didn't) and back on monday for u/s #2

But last cycle it took 'till CD30 for the follicles to get to the right size. This is just CD13 so I was curious why not just wait a couple weeks, but RE seemed to think that wouldn't be a good idea

I'm sorry - I know that isn't the news you were expecting. I am a bit surprised the doctor is doing 5 more days of Clomid - that isn't an approach I've heard before. For me, I ended up getting several days of Follistim injections.

As for why not wait a couple of weeks . . . well, the theory is that if it takes the follicles a long time to grow/develop, they are not "good" quality, and will not be as likely to result in a

From my non-professional perspective, it sounds like you are not a good Clomid responder (which is the case for me, too). Clomid does indirect stimulation - it lowers estrogen to trick your body into producing all kinds of other hormones. Some people just don't respond well to that approach, but do really well instead with direct stimulation (FSH injections). That was the case for me.

GL to you . . . I hope this does the trick for you, and I'm sorry your body isn't cooperating.

Julie, What size were your follies measuring to make them put off another u/s for 5 days? I'm just curious as mine were small on Monday and they would have had me come back only 3 days later. (12.5mm)
I hope they grow nice strong and fast for you! GL

But judging from what they were last round when they did trigger I could tell before he said anything that they were a lot smaller than last round. I called the nurse on another ? so hopefully if she calls me back I'll ask.

Everything else looked good (estrogen / lining) so a small plus but still. I'm hoping if they grow they don't overdo it so 5 days is too late. Figured starting clomid sooner might help so I took it at lunch vs waiting till tonight

My memory sometimes works - i think i remember either .86cm or .68cm (here's at least hoping for the .86) so that puts them really small if only 6-8mm - maybe that's why the 5 days w/ clomid

:p Should google what else you can do to make them grow - not sure if any extra vitamin / supplement matters but eh
