Funny Nicknames???
I was just talking to Lyn about my name being Jenny and the Forest Gump thing and it reminded me of nicknames.
What is your nickname if any?
When I was little there was this little girl named Penelope at church but they called her Penny. I do not have a middle name (now it is my maiden name) so I wanted it to be Penelope so I could be called Penny too. SO growing up my younger sister called me Penny all the time. On my Christmas gifts and cards, she always writes "To Penelope". And she always introduces me as Penelope to people and they say "Hi Penelope!!! Embarassing!!!!
Just today Jo (my sister) and I drove an hour a away to pick up my mom (she comes down to Austin to stay with us for about a week at a time a couple times a month) and we got to the restaurant I told Jo to go put our names down. AND what did she say...it was under Penelope...she said just so she could laugh when they said it. Ahhhh!!!! Sisters!

Re: Funny Nicknames???
My name growing up was Tina. When I was in grade school my mom wouldn't let me shave my legs. As an Italian girl, I had extremely hairy legs. The boys at school called me Teen Wolf until I beat one of them up.

Hahahaha....Katrina, that is sooo funny!
One of my guy friends in high school called me "Messica" one day, and that just kinda stuck...of all things! And for the record, I'm not a messy person at all! I guess it's the only thing that goes with Jessica...who knows!

Re: Funny Nicknames???
My pet name is Chi Chi (means boobies in spanish). I was given that name from my bffs husband and daughter. Now all our friends and their kids have picked that up. At first it was a joke but when their daughter was young it was also the only thing she could say. My family calls me Tissy because I used to go by Christie and when I was little I couldn't get all the letters out. My Dh nickname is Pookie! Everyone calls him Pookie. He comes to my office and there isn't one person that calls him Kevin. It is funny.

Re: Funny Nicknames???
Although my name is Alison, I've always been Ali so I get Ali-cat, Ali-gator, Ali-baba...you get the jist.
Oh, and DH's nickname is Bubba...how appropriate for him--big ol' country boy.
