Icon9 Disappointed

Went to RE today to have baseline U/S to hopefully start next rounds of med and IUI. U/S showed large cyst (55mm), so big you couldnt even see my right ovary, urghh!! Going to have to pass on this cycle possibly next also until it resolves.

My RE doesn't like to use BC because you can still get prego when you have cysts and doesnt want to kill a whole cycle if not needed.

Any success stories to share of people getting BFP with cysts and no meds??

Oh man I'm sorry.

There is nothing more aggravating than being told to WAIT!

I have never had an issue with cysts so I don't know much about it. My best advise since you aren't on meds and aren't going to be monitored it to maybe get some cheap OPKs and try and catch O.

having to wait really sucks. I hope it resolves itself quickly and you're back on track next month.

When my friend was about 7-8 weeks pg with her first they found a cyst on her ovary, they are not sure how long she had it but went to have a good pregnancy with exception of alot of cramping from the cyst. She had the baby a year ago (almost exactly) and had the cyst and most of her right ovary removed in Feb and got pg again in March.

I had a 4.5 cm cyst and a 2.4 cm cyst after one of my IUI cys, and I was placed on bcps because it helps resolves the cysts faster. All I know is that when I went in for my next u/s 3 weeks later, the cysts were 100% gone!

I can't tell you about pg and cysts, but often you don't ovulate a cy with cysts because good follicles can't grow, and it can also delay AF and the start of the next cy. That isn't true with everyone, but I was told it could be an issue and was strongly encouraged to do 3 weeks of bcps, so I did. I debated trying naturally and hoping for a that cy and that the cysts would be gone, but then I thought I'd be more disappointed if I had to sit out 2 cys.

Cysts should resolve naturally within a few weeks to a few months, so you may be just fine waiting it out!!
