Clomid starts today!
I already posted this on the Clomid board, but thought I would see if any of you ladies had any advice if you don't frequent over there.
I'm new to Club Clomid, but have been reading previous posts and it has been inspiring to hear of all of the success stories!
A little background on me: DH and I have been ttc since Dec. and when I had 2 whacky cycles in a row, my OB ran tests and discovered I have PCOS. I began Metformin right away and waited to see if AF would show before starting Provera. Luckily she did and here we are CD 3.
I'll be on 50mg CD3-7. I've heard many of you say take it at night. Today is also the day I will be jumping my Metformin up to 1000mg from 500mg (she wanted to ease me into it). Any words of advice on how to make it through tonight? What should I tell DH to expect? Don't want to freak him out.
Thanks everyone!

Re: Clomid starts today!
Good Luck Jeanie!!
I have never taken clomid but I have heard and seen the great results! I think this is a great step in the right direction.
As far as DH, I have heard that Clomid *can* come with some s/e that affect mood so I would just tell him that you cannot be held accountable for your actions the next couple weeks.
I hope clomid does the trick.

Re: Clomid starts today!
Hey Jeanie- I didn't have any major effects. My mood was the same, I did get a few headaches (but I always have anyway), and I did notice a few hot flashes. If I wasn't hypersensitive to every little thing, I probably would have never known I was on the meds. Before I started it, the women on here kind of scared me with their posts...I heard "raging B!" and "Ovaries Exploding" and I was a little nervous! But like I said, no one noticed anything...especially my hubby. I think taking it at night did help though. I was on 100mg my first run...so I was expecting some major s/e, especially when people said 50mg affected them the way it did. But nope, everyone is different! I would just tell DH that there is a chance you might not be 'normal' for a month, but look at the bigger picture! GL!

Re: Clomid starts today!
My DH learned to stay away from me when I was taking Clomid because I had mood swings. The only other side effect was hot flashes but they weren't too horrible to deal with. Looking at the bigger picture though, and the end result I wanted, I was willing to take a few side effects. and hopefully this will be your month!

Re: Clomid starts today!
I would definitely take it at night, maybe 1-2 hours before you are ready for bed. I had no real problems on it - I got hot flashes about 1 hour after taking it, and I got a bit of a headache either in the evenings (so I went to bed early) and sometimes in the morning a bit. I managed with the headaches - they went away the day after I stopped taking the Clomid pills.
You'll do fine! It isn't terrible for everyone.

Jeanie - I don't have any advice about Clomid, but I hope it does the trick for you.

Re: Clomid starts today!
Hey Jeanie. My first month was bad...take it at night! The next morning I had severe headaches, hot flashes, nausea and was "moody". It lasted for a couple of days. The second round (this past month) things were a lot better!!! Only had headaches, but other than that, no side efffects. With the hot flashes, just keep water by your bed to drink and cool off. You can take Tylenol for headaches while on it-I asked the Pharmacist. Good luck, let us know how it goes. You may be lucky and have no side effects!!!

Re: Clomid starts today!
My biggest side effect that hit me every night was hot flashes and restlessness. That happened whether I took in the am or pm. Sometimes I'd get the killer headache and mood swings other months nothing. I start it tonight too so I will be right on task with ya!
