Default caffeine question

Sorry if this has been dicussed before... What is the latest on caffeine? I only had decaf with dd #1 but had a cup of reg. coffee in the morning while pg with dd #2. I have heard conflicting information about caffeine and pg and was wondering what the most recent research is showing??? Have you all cut out all caffeine? If not, how much are you drinking?

This is coming from a sleep-deprived, trying-to-wean, caffeine-addict!

The OB sheet I got last week said there is no concrete evidence on the "safe" amount of caffeine, but they recommend fewer than 300 mg/day.

Which is somewhere around 4 cups of coffee. I pretty much completely cut out caffeine except for the occasional iced tea or sip of dh's diet pepsi.

Interesting side note: caffeine can help the little swimmers swim faster.

My doc told me coffee was OK as long as I don't exaggerate. She told me to avoid completely Expresso coffee (in Portugal expresso's are what every one drinks), but I told her not to worry, I have the traditional mug of coffee once a day. She said it was ok.

All in moderation. That's what my ob always said. I would have a coke a day with my dd because that was the only thing that curbed my nausea.
