Default another round of bloodwork in...

The nurse just called and said that the genetic chromosome testing they did was normal. That means that he doesn't have Klienfelters or the other genetic factors of infertility. Her words were: "the karyotypes were normal which is good." He doesn't know how to help us further of course, nor did he know who to see. She was sending a copy to myself and the urologist too.

They didn't run a microdeletion test, of course. His office doesn't do that. I am so confident that that is what he has at this point. Or an autoimmune thing from when he was little.

Last week I had my yearly exam and my doctor was telling me about how if the goal is a baby then we should do what we can to get it. He said when you find out the test results then go with a proactive plan. He said adoption or he mentioned donor iui. I asked him about IVF with ICSI and he said that it was a lot of money with very unlikely results due to the spermatogenesis. Why spend all that money with such little chances? He gave me the name of an RE to call. My other doctor working with us may know someone that works specifically with males to help us.

So another stopping point, but I am glad he is normal! I just wish somebody with advanced degrees could help us!!!!!!

Yeah, it looks like you really need a specialist of all specialists! Hopefully the RE will definitely be able to help him since he is specifically geared towards men.

Well it's good that the genetic tests are normal... but I know it's frustrating that you still don't have an answer.

I would talk to someone who specializes in fertility issues (specifically male issues) before making a decision. I read this article about a year ago about a couple who had MFI. They did IVF w/ ICSI and TESE. They found 6 "useable" sperm and she got pregnant and had a baby from that.

Just a thought.

The reason I say all of this is that my OB's office told me a lot of things when we first were diagnosed back in January and it turns out that a lot of it wasn't 100% accurate. I got better information from the 2 RE's that I've seen.

Good Luck to you guys!!
