Icon7 another newbie here..

hey ladies!
ive been reading for sometime now and i think you are all great! my story?? when i was 14 i was having alot of pain and saw a bunch of different drs and finally a gyn who thought i had endo. so after 4 years of different bcps and living on pain meds i had lap done and the dr said it was way worse then he ever thought and also told me that my right tube was partially blocked but since i had just turned 18 they wernt worried about it at the time.

fast forward 4 years!! now im 22 and married and have been ttc since dec'06 with no luck and alot of the pain has come back. so i went to the dr yesterday and he said that i am going to have to have surgery again and its sceduled for may 9th and im also going in for testing because he doesnt think im ovulating. sooo thats pretty much my story. im stressing out cuz dh is due to deploy this winter and we really wanted to concieve before he left cuz if not then its another year before hes home again.

well i just wanted to say hey and stick my head in here! thanks for listening

Welcome Meghan! I just wanted to tell you that I've had endo since a teen as well, and mild PCOS. I don't ovulate on my own at all. I've had surgery, been on Lupron Depot, birth control pills, pain meds, you name it. And I got my + pregnancy test this morning...Don't give up!!! It will happen!!!!

Hi Meghan!!

My name is Mandy, one of the hosts of this board. You really have found a wonderful group of women here.

I encourage you to take a look at some of the "sticky" threads at the top of the page if you haven't already. They are very helpful. Especially Learn our LINGO!

It's good that you are addressing all of these issues now so you can hopefully conceive before this winter.

In my experience, I would also suggest you ask DH to go in for an S/A (semen analysis) in the meantime. You may go and have all of these tests and procedures and end up having an issue with his sperm too.

We TTC for 10 months, I went to the dr and had all kinds of b/w done in that time, finally in December we said "If we aren't pregnant this month, we'll do the S/A" the next month we found out that DH only has a few hundred sperm in each sample and it really takes a few million to break down the lining of the egg. Basically we have been given a VERY low chance of getting pregnant on our own. So we could have tried for years. Now, I'm glad we did that test and found out.

Our case is very rare, so don't be alarmed. But there are lots of "little" issues with male fertility that can be GREATLY helped just with vitamins. So I really encourage that!

Good Luck Meghan! I look forward to getting to know you better!

I hope you are able to get your this winter. As others have said, this is a great support group. DH and I have been trying since Oct. 2006. I seem to O okay on my own, his S/A was borderline, so we're doing a few things (boxers, less caffeine, etc) to try to get his #s up.

to you on your surgery.
