What do you do with a picky eater?
My oldest is the pickiest eater in the world! He is on the "white diet". Mostly starches all day long. He will eat apples, strawberries & grapes. But meat is the big struggle!
I don't have a major problem with breakfast or lunch, but dinner is a total nightmare! He wants mac-n-cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich every night. And I'm not doing it anymore! Tonight we had ham, green beans & mashed potatoes. I put 5 tiny bites of ham on his plate and maybe 10 green beans a tsp of mashed potatoes. He sat at the kitchen table for OVER 1 hour. I told him he was not getting up til he ate. He said, that's ok mom, I don't need a snack tonight. That had been our previous punishment, if the kids don't eat their dinner they don't get a snack in the evening. Well, I'm changing that rule! Because, now he thinks he's not gonna eat..and just not get a snack. It went right thru me!
So please, tell me what you guys do with a picky eater? Do you have a punishment? Do you let them eat what they want? Do you make them clean their plate?
Please, I would love some honest answers!!
Belinda
