Icon10 Weekly TTC Thread - 16th December

I know this is up a few days early but since we didn't have one this week I thought it was only right to get one up ASAP so you ladies could keep updating.

Thanks for inquiring about me, I was put on bedrest by my Doc for having a few high BP readings. I was sent to L&D for testing/monitoring and thankfully everything there came back OK! I was on bedrest from last Thursday until today and went to go see Doc again, my BP was still high (142/90) L&D thinks I need a larger cuff used on my arm and my Doc doesn't seem to really care for that advice so he said he will be treating the rest of my pregnancy as 'high risk' but that he isn't going to start doing much differently except seeing me more often.

There's a full update on the DIF board if you care to read the whole story, that's a synopsis

So how it everyone else doing?! Any possible BFP's? I'm so thankful to be back and it will be nice to hear all of your updates to get my mind off of things!!

and lots of

Missy I'm glad to hear you're doing okay. I've been waiting for an update since I read about you on DIF...should have checked there first.

I'm getting kicked all the time now. I don't think Emily cares for my maternity jeans, but they're the only maternity pants I have and I'd rather not lounge about in my jammies all day. She tends to kick at the base of the expandable part and at the top of it where it lies somewhere around my diaphragm. She also seems to get great joy out of kicking my cervix. Almost like a "I know this is the exit, maybe if I ram the door a few hundred times a day I can spring out of here early".

Speaking of early, I've been having a TON of Braxton Hicks. Some of them are getting to be quite painful. They've always gone away on their own...so far. That's not the only pain I've been having either. Lately, my hips have been killing me. Especially at night when I try to sleep. I can't sleep on my tummy, I'm not supposed to sleep on my back, and it hurts so darn much to sleep on my sides that frankly, I'm not getting much sleep at all.

In other news, I've broken down and started a blog. It's mainly to capture the off the wall things that go through my head during the day or while I'm knitting....and to showcase my knitting projects. There's only 2 posts on there now, but maybe someday, it'll be big.

Missy - I hope your BP stays under control! We want your little one to back a little longer.

I should be O'ing any time now. We'll probably DTD tonight, just to cover the bases.

Lisa (over-analyzer) - Welcome!! Your little guy is so cute!

Welcome back Lisa!

Tkeys - I just read your update on your DH's count, that's really good! Good luck this cycle!

My last day of provera was 12/1, I forgot to take it the rest of the nights but I've taken it for 7 days and gotten AF before. However, I have no sign of her yet. I've felt like she's coming for a while now, my breasts hurt like crazy, but not even any spotting. This is the first time provera hasn't worked for me in all the years I've taken it (I took it when I was a teenager for a while too). So I guess I will take a hpt tomorrow AM even though there's pretty much no chance I'm pg, and then start another 10 days tomorrow. I really want this cycle to end so I can get another shot at O'ing!

Missy - I'm so sorry you've been going through this . . . I hope the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful, and I'm glad you are back!

Jenny - I hope Emily starts being nicer to you! Do you have any access to one of those recliner chairs? I've heard a few pregnant friends say they were wonderful the last few months of pregnancy for sleeping. GL finding a comfortable position soon.

Michelle - hope you catch that egg!

Lisa - I'm sorry you are going through all of this . . . maybe you had just O'd when you started the progesterone . . . it could have happened a day or two after they checked your progesterone. Hopefully, AF will arrive soon.

As for me, my ovaries finally did their job, I triggered on Sunday, and had my IUI on Tuesday! DH's count was MUCH improved . . . 76 million/ml (up from 21), 2.3 ml total, and 31% motility (up from 22%). We had 5.3 million for the IUI . . . but I'm still worried because they were only given a 1+ out of 4 for how well they are moving - I'm not sure what that means about our chances. I'm trying to be hopeful . . . and I hope we can do more for motility with another month or two! We have an appt on 12/19 to talk about next steps. DH and I are going to be on vacation from 12/16-12/19 - should be fun!

Missy - thanks for the update girl! Rest up as much as possible and try some relaxation techniques - they may help bring your blood pressure down a little.

Jenny - same to you - try to rest as much as possible during the day, even if it's just putting your feet up and having a hot drink. The things these little ones put us through! Just as well they are worth it

Lisa - naughty, naughty for forgetting to take the Provera Fingers crossed for tomorrow's HPT anyhow - you never know, stranger things have happened!

Steph - testing at the weekend - WOOT!!!! Holding my breath with excitement and hoping for you sweetie! Please, please, please!!!!

Tkeys - so we have two women in the 2WW - fantastic!!!! I think you're so great! Always optimistic and really helpful to the other ladies on the board! Have a great vacation!

My man is off work tomorrow to look after the kids whilst I have the extra corporeal shock treatments to my STILL broken leg. Hopefully this is the last one because it hurts worse than 'divorce' and I need my leg to heal so I can TTC next year At the moment my life is a continual chain of MRI's, CT Scans and x-rays - that would not be good for TTC! Actually - I've never had a divorce! What am I saying!?!

I am so excited about trying for #5 next year!

By the way Steph - I almost saved your chart to my favorites list but I was concerned that was a bit stalkerish

Claire - you are so kind! I feel like I've been so negative lately with all the crazy stuff going on in my life - I'm just so thrilled to have something to look forward to! I'm so sorry about your leg . . . but I can certainly sympathize. I broke my ankle back in November . . . it was just a minor hairline fracture, but I ripped a bunch of tendons/ligaments. I've been going to the doctor, and may need surgery on my ankle (but I'm hoping to put that off for a while because it would interfere with ttc/pregnancy). GL with your treatment tomorrow - it doesn't sound like fun.

Missy ~ good to hear an update. I was getting worried about you.

Lots of to everyone else!!

Claire ~ feel free to add my chart to your favorites! I don't mind if you "stalk" me!! HA! HA! I actually had a dollar store test leftover from last cycle so I took it this morning...BFN but I know it is still really early. I ordered five first response tests on e-bay (still sealed and in date) for $7.52 with FREE shipping! I was so excited to win the auction for that price. I am going to hold off and not test until they come in...that could be this weekend or early next week.

Well, you'll never guess what showed up this morning ... :AF!

Guess I don't need that hpt after all.

On to a new cycle for me! Yay! I start clomid on Saturday!

Hugs Lisa

Tkeys - ouch about your leg! I have started to lose faith that mine will ever heal! Hey, I have a question about the 'p's marked on your chart. Are they a form of progesterone?

Steph - I was excited to see your temp this morning. I had it in my head that if today's temp went up at all it would be great! Now if it stays high tomorrow I will pop with excitement!!!! It's certainly a beautiful looking chart right now. Hope those HPTs arrive on the perfect day to get a BFP!

Stephany - lots of luck to you!

Claire - have faith . . . your leg will heal, even if it takes a long time! I've been through this before on my other ankle and had to have reconstructive surgery to fix it, but it is totally fine now. I'm just hoping I don't have to do the same for this ankle!!

Yes, the P is for progesterone - my RE requires prometrium to be administered vaginally 2x/day during the 2ww, beginning the day after IUI. I don't think it affected my temps dramatically (since I started taking it after my first temp jump), but I'm guessing my chart will be deceptive because of the prometrium. I am supposed to take it for 15 days, then go in for a pregnancy test on day 16 (yeah, like I'll WAIT that long to test!)

Thanks Claire! Yes I was VERY excited about today's temp jump! Hoping for another tomorrow. The tests have been shipped and should be here Saturday or Mon. Of course I'm hoping they'll arrive on Sat

Claire, I feel for you about the leg. At least they're trying to help you though.

I broke my arm 3 years ago at Wal Mart. Two story Wal-Marts were new in my area, and they have escalators, but carts aren't supposed to go down them. Instead, there is a thing in the middle that the cart locks into and rides up or down safely. This stupid stupid woman decided to take her cart down the escalator with her and it slipped out of her hands. I somehow got my kids out of the way and blocked the cart from falling the rest of the way by throwing my left arm up. The bar of the cart that you hold onto slammed into my forearm.

As soon as I got to the bottom of the escalator and management and staff started rushing over, I knew it was broken. I looked at my arm and culd see the bump and bruising - it started instantly.

However, the hospital couldn't see a break on the x-rays. I'm told this is normal due to swelling and what not. They also were not willing to split it or put it in a sling because of the location on my arm that the injury was in, they said it would make it worse.

3 years later, I look at my arm and STILL see a bump where the bone didn't heal properly. I can run my hand down my forearm and FEEL the bump that was left behind. It doesn't hurt, except for rare rare occasions, but I'm still pissed about the whole incident.

I just checked my CP/CM and it is now HS & Watery. I was afraid to enter it cause I knew it might throw FF off but I figured...that's what it was so I might as well enter it. Sure enough...FF changed my O date to CD14 instead of CD15 so now I am 10dpo. I am still not really "certain" which day I ovulated but we pretty much stayed "busy" during that time so I think we are covered At least now that big dip I had is above my coverline It drives me crazy when it goes below the line even though it may or may not mean anything if it only happens a couple of times.

Thanks ladies. It's actually not too disappointing. I was more upset about possibly having to wait another 2 weeks for another round of provera to do it's stuff, plus the implications of it not working the first time. I'm just excited we get to move on to another chance.

Stephany - your chart looks really good!

Thanks! I am so thrilled with my chart right now! One more high temp and FF will give me the "possibly triphasic" message (I tested FF by entering a high temp for tomorrow..hehe). I've had a triphasic chart before that ended in a BFN but I am trying to stay optimistic this time...I wasn't taking clomid when I had it before.

Although last night I was having all my typical AF is on the way feelings...bad back ache and cramping. I've been having the cramping several days now. I know LOTS of women say they swore AF was on the way before they got their BFP so I'm tyring to stay positive. Can't wait to see what the weekend temps hold!

Oh...and headaches started last night...still have a bad one now. My throat was sore last night and a little today too...don't feel sick though. Don't even know that sore throat means anything but I know you can search charts in the archives on FF where women had a sore throat.
