Default ttc for #3- now or later?

I have 2 children ( ages almost 3 and just turned 5) and gained 40-50 pounds each time. I still am carrying an extra 15 pounds ( was 158, then 167 when PG with them) from those pregnancies.

I'd like to ttc for #3 and really need to lose the weight- at least 10 pounds of it. Can't seem to get motivated!
Do I wait and lose ( I'm 181 now) or go for it and deal with the weight later? I'm nearing 35 and really don't want to spread out the pregnancies much longer if I do it.

So, I'm curious- for those of you who have had more than 1 baby, how consistent was your weight gain?

Both pregnancies were healthy.

My weight gain has always been right around 40. You will be running after 2 and caring for an infant, and that's a workout! What does your doc say? As far as age, it's been easy for you in the past, so it will likely (but no guarantees) be so again. 35 is not old these days. My last two were post-ama, and we're going for 4 soon

you might lose the 10lbs during your first trimester....

i personally would ttc now rather then later

I wouldn't worry about weight that much if you really want another one. I am a heavy girl to begin with 200 with my first and I was fine as well as my son. Talk to your doc and see what they say but I think you should be good to go.

You sound like me My daughters are 5 1/2 and 3 1/2 and we are going to start ttc our 3rd beginning of August. I weighed 135 at start of both pregnancies and after 1st baby weight came off easily and with second...yeah not so much. I'm on Weight watchers and currently weigh 149. I have lost 6.8 lbs so far. I'm shooting to get down to 135 by August but if not then I'm not going to try and gain as much. Baby #1 I gained 38 lbs and baby #2 I gained 40 lbs. Personally I say go for it and until you are actually pregnant just eat healthy and exercise. I'm 33 and I don't have a whole lot more time before I'm of advanced maternal age (hate that phrase by the way) Good luck and let us know what you decide.
