Icon9 Newbie here.

Hello everyone,
I am new here and have read a lot of your posts. I am 27 and happily married but i have not been lucky enough to have any children. I had my first miscarriage in dec of 2003, I did not know that I was pregnant. I had thought that maybe I was and took two test and both were BFN, then one night i started bleeding heavily and by Dh made me go to the ER. The took a blood test that showed that I was pregnant but I knew at that point that it was all wrong, I even had to go through contractions. I did not have to get a D&C my body managed to pass everything. I was told to wait 3 cycles before trying again. Well then in May of 2004 I began to wonder if I was pregnant again so I took another test and this time I got a BFP. Needless to say I was excited, but that did not last for long, 30 minutes later I started bleeding. With the second one I had to get the D&C. My doctor told me that they do not usually do any testing unless you have had 3 or more. A couple of months later I was talking to my cousin about everything and she told me about PCOS, she said that it sounded like I had a lot of the symptons (she also has it). I went to a doctor and asked about it and the frist dr told me that I needed to lose 80 lbs and that PCOS is just a diagnosis that dr's give when they can not think of anything else. So I went to a different dr that did the testing and stated that I do in fact have PCOS and I have IR, so I was put on Metformin 1500 mg a day in Oct of 2006 and have not been pregnant since my last miscarriage. My sister-in-laws and cousins have since had children, and all I can think is "When is it my turn?"

First and foremost welcome to our board, I'm Missy and I'm the host of this board...if you need anything at all please do not hesitate to contact me or if I'm not around Kara is my co-hostess and would be glad to assist you too!!

I'm sorry to hear about your losses, I know how difficult one was on me I couldn't imagine a second. DH and I finally got pregnant again after over a year of trying and I haven't been able to breathe a sigh of relief yet. Every little twinge sends me running to the bathroom to make sure that everything is OK.

I do hope that your journey ends soon and that you'll get a nice sticky little bean and a beautiful healthy baby!

All the ladies here are wonderful and some too share PCOS with you, so I know that they would be happy to share their experiences with you.

Are you thinking of trying clomid or any kind of fertility treatment to help you conceive? Charting/temping?

Thanks for introducing yourself....I hope to hear more from you!!

I was planning on trying clomid soon, but I just moved from Michigan to Texas and do not have health insurance yet.

Welcome! I also have PCOS - I've been on metformin for years, but just started TTCing. I wish you good luck, and hope you get insurance soon so that you can give clomid a try.
