Default CM & BBT question

I've just started charting this month, so I have nothing to compare the information to. During my period, my temps were all over the place. Afterwards, they leveled out to 97.5 - 97.6. I showed a slight drop to 97.3 last night. I'm only on day 12, which seems a little early, but this afternoon my CM turned to the super-stretchy variety. Am I correct in expecting a jump in my BBT in the morning? Also, the color of my CM hasn't changed much. It's stayed yellowish the whole time, but the consistency has changed. Is that normal?

BTW - I'm not TTC just yet. I'm just charting to get an idea of when I'll be fertile. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be able to time it for a spring baby.

Thanks for your input!

Sorry - one more question. When you get the EWCM, does that mean you have ovulated, or that you are about to ovulate?

its different for everyone. I tend to get ewcm for a day or sometimes 2 before I o. I do tend to get WATERY cm some cycles the day I ovulate.

also I never noticed a *big* jump in my temps teh day of/after ovulation.

I get the ewcm before and sometimes after O. But its much greater before O. Also I get the O pains so I know about when that time is.
The before O temps are much lower than after O temps. Mine rises day by day but it doesn't shoot waaay up right away.

O could be still days away, it just all depends on how your body works. But this is the prime time to dtd, so have fun with it. Your temps might rise slowly or jump high once O'd. Like I said before it all depends on how your body works. Each person is different.

Good luck!

Well....

The EWCM only lasted a few hours. My temps had been hovering between 97.3 - 97.5 for several days. The last three BBTs have been 97.5, 97.6, and 97.8. It's not a huge jump, but I'm really curious to see what it looks like tomorrow.

Thanks for your input!

EWCM means you should be about to ovulate but for me its a guessing game. I have long irregular cycles sometimes that have many EWCM days all spread out. My telltale sign is temp rising about 98.1 and I can usually feel the ovulation pain.

Wanted to say we are avoiding for probably another 6-12 months atleast. But I've used this method to avoid for over 2 years now but of course using diaphram/spermacide all pre-ovulation days helps.
