Here's the scoop...I had the Mirena in until mid November. It took 39 days for AF to come and my Dr. told me at that point I should resume my 'normal' cycles. We wanted to wait one more month prior to TTC so based on my normal 28-30 day cycles, we have not been using protection since about CD 18. I am now at CD 33 with no AF in sight. So I'm wondering what people's experiences have been, whether AF has resumed how it was before or if it changed, like should I be expecting another 39 day cycle, since my 'normal' 28-30 days passed with no AF? I tested negative on CD29. To complicate things, I am still nursing my 10m old but since I did have AF in Dec I don't think that is the issue. Any thoughts?

I had my DS in May, had the Mirena inserted in late August, and had it removed in October. I had intense pain when I moved, which was the big reason I had it removed. We then decided to TTC now rather than waiting.

Right after having it removed, I bled very normal AF like for me for 4 days. Then, spotting 2 weeks later...the nothing for 46 days. Then a normal AF. Then a two day break...AF again...2 day break...AF again. That last AF began December 12th. I got a BFP on January 13th (chemical pregnancy) and AF started on the 17th. I'm charting and using OPK's this month to determine ovulation for sure.

So, my cycles have been incredibly wonky since having it removed. Prior to getting pregnant, I had very normal 28 day cycles. I'm not sure if I answered any of your questions, but that's my experience.

I used it prior to ttc'ing this baby. I had it put in at 4 weeks pp after having my ds. I hated it. I bled/spotted almost weekly for months. I had it removed almost a year ago.

I don't have any anwers but I just had it removed this morning because it was causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. I"ve had it in since April 2006. The doctor said it should take about 2 months to get AF going again, then we can start ttc. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the replies. It all worked itself out in the form of a BFP on Sunday! I am guessing that maybe I ovulated late, as CD 29 was a BFN, and then CD 35 I got a BFP. I did not test in between that time though.
