Icon9 I could cry (and Emily did!)

Yesterday evening around 4:45 we were getting ready to sit down in the dining room and eat dinner when the wind picked up and the lightning started flashing. The wind was wild it was bending trees like crazy and then we heard a tree snap! What a SCARY sound! We just KNEW it was the one in front of Ava's room since part of it is dying but we ran and looked out the window and it was intact so we looked out all the windows and saw that it was our neighbors tree in front of their house, the whole top of it broke off and fell right in front of their front door! (they were not home) We go back to the dining room to sit down and we see that one of our 3 trees in the front yard has broken. Seriously out of the 3 small trees this was my favorite. It wasn't dying and wasn't filled with bees. Now half of it is gone. I acted all dramatic "OH NO! My poor little tree is dead!" (I was just playing, but Emily didn't think so and I turn around and she was crying. She said "Now my tree will never grow new leaves, it's dead" It broke my heart! She is so very tender hearted.

We didn't tell her when we went and looked out the sunroom that one of the trees (again, we only have small trees ) had a huge limb broke off of it, our apple tree looked like it was broke as well, but it was just a combo of the weight of all the apples and the wind. It could break any day so when Chris gets home he is going to prop the part that is leaning down back up in or try to shake a lot of apples off so the tree doesn't break. ALSO, the tree by the garage that has a couple of humingbird nests in it had a big limb that broke off and sure enough it was the limb with the nests. Thankfully it was a big upper limb and just fell on the limb below it and Chris thinks we should just let it stay.

I hate seeing broke trees!
