Hello Ladies:
I am new and am so thankful for this forum. You ladies are a true source of inspiration and a wealth of knowledge. (MommaJac, thank you for the welcome and words of encouragement!!!)
LONG STORY SHORT:
I am 39 and getting married this year. My fiance' (27) and I are both active duty military and plan to start TTC when I retire in 2010, as we are currently stationed in two different states (I have an adult daughter and he has no children).
I had my tubal in 1996 and am going through the process to determine whether or not I am a candidate for a reversal. My problem is that I cannot remember the type of tubal ligation procedure performed and it's not documented in my military medical record. Furthermore, the military installation where I had the procedure done, has since archived their records. I have requested a copy with the hope that they will have a copy of the operative report. If not, I am not sure what will happen next.
My question is has anyone had this dilemma and if so, what happened next? Has anyone had success with the doctor performing a procedure to determine the type of tubal ligation?
My doctor has mentioned IVF as an alternative as he is not sure the military will perform the reversal if I am a candidate due to my age. I would prefer the reversal, as I want to get pregnant naturally.
Hugs and Blessings,
Nicole
