Default TTC at 45

I'm 45 years old and TTC. This will be my forth child but the first in this relationship. I'm finally out of a 20 year abusive marriage and am now with a very supportive wonderful guy.

We've been together for 2 years now and would like to have a child together.

I proactively went to my family doctor more than 6 months ago to make sure everything was ok and we were good to go.

He has been trying to get me an appointment with a specialist since April to no avail. We are now on the third doctor and I have yet to even be accepted as a patient.

I have been seeing a Naturopath, getting accupunture and taking folic acid and prenatal vitamins. Basically doing whatever is within my control. I wanted to make sure I had viable eggs before getting my hopes up that this would happen at all.

I feel very abandoned my the medical community. Is it normal to not even be able to get an appointment with a specialist? I didn't think I was that old yet.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Thanks
