Today
Today, I had a sonohystergram and mostly everything looked good, Ovaries looked good, tubes were open, but I have about 3 fibroids and 1 of them is about 2 cm and inside the uterus and they think this is probably preventing the egg from being able to successfully implant and if it does implant the chance of miscarrage is higher. So I was glade to hear everything else looks good, but I need to have the fibroids removed and before that I have to get a MRI to see if they can be removed without an incision. They made by appt. for 5/17 so far away then I have to get a surgery date and who knows how long that will take. So even though I'm slightly encourgaged I hate all the waiting. We've been ttc for 7 months and this sounds like another 2-3 months to resolve the fibroids and then who knows how long it will take after that. I'm trying to stay positive, I'll probably feel better tomorrow after it's sunk all in. The doctor said we can go ahead and try this month, but just wanted us to know the increase chance of miscarraige b/c of the fibroids so I don't know if we should try or not since no one definitely doesn't want a miscarriage. I had fibroids with both of my pregnancies, but I guess they weren't in a place that would cause problems. I am very thankful b/c it could be a lot worse. I'm just frustrated with having to wait for the MRI, I'm going to call in the morning to see if I can get something sooner. If I can get that done, I can move on to getting a surgery date scheduled.

Re: Today
I believe Remnlou (Karen) who just gave birth not too long ago, had fibroids removed and conceived shortly there after. It seems like a long time to wait, but I'm sure it'll all fall into place. Keep us posted.

Re: Today

At least you now have some answers, and once you get those fibroids removed you'll have one fewer obstacle to having that baby.

Re: Today
Thanks for the support ladies. I called first thing this morning and was able to get a May 2nd appt for the MRI so at least that's way sooner than the 5/16th date they scheduled yesterday.
Does anyone know the recovery time once you have the surgery? Maybe Karen? That does give me lots of hope that after the surgery our chances will increases.

Re: Today
I agree with Kara, now you know and once the fibroids are removed your chances will increase because you won't have that as an obstacle.

Re: Today
That's true. Thanks
I'm not sure if we should try this month or not now that I know about the fibroids. What should I do? The doc said we could still try, but warned us about the higher incidence of miscarriage. Actually a day or so after I'm scheduled for my MRI I'm supposed to O. Any thoughgts?

Re: Today
Hmmm.... me? I'd go for it. Knowing a M/C was possible. I don't think I could wait, but that's just me.

Re: Today
Here's hoping you can get your MRI scheduled sooner so you can get busy working on another baby. If it were me I would go for it this month too. Good luck!
