Default Short Luteal Phase

Hi Ladies,
I know I don't post alot on this board but I do read everyones post. For the ladies who got a BFP, congratulations and I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy. For the ladies who haven't yet, I hope it will be very soon for you.
My question:
I have been monitoring my cycles the last couple of months with the CBFM and I have noticed that I "O" quite late in my cycle. I have a 28 day cycle and I O on cycle day 20. Do you think this is because of my age 41? Do you think I should let my doctor know and do you think this is why I miscarried in Jan? Has this ever happend to any of you ladies?

I had that issue when BF a lot. I got pregnant, but it barely made it. He later passed away from something else. I would ask the doc about it, because there are things they can do to help. I am not sure if it is about age. It could just be the hormones are out of balance.

Thank you so much ladies for your response! I am going to have bloodwork tomorrow on cd 21 and then again on cd 3 of next cycle. I hope this will tell me something about what is going on. I was googling this and the websites say I am low on pregestrone and I should take 100mg of B6. I guess I will have to wait and find out when the blood work comes in.

Definately sounds like a short LP is the issue. I bet they can tweak your hormones with meds. Let us know how your labs turn out.

I got my results back today from the doctor and my progestrone is 1.9 very low said the assistant. WTH, I asked what do I do now and he answered I think your time is up...... I am making an apt with my primary doctor now because my insurance doesn't pay for a fertility doctor. I am so lost right now and I don't kow what to think. I can't find what exactly does 1.9 mean on the internet.

So why can't they give you supplements?? It's done all the time. I think you need to get yourself another Doc. A supportive one.

I had the SAME cd 21 progesterone result last time mine was checked. 1.9....I KNEW what it meant, and I just slumped in my seat and sighed "way too low". DH was surprised I knew that. Dr. said it meant I didn't O that cycle...but I also had an ovarian cyst, so it could be why. Remember, that same cycle I had an FSH of 30.1 and an Inhibin B of 7.2....all bad news, yet the doctor told us I can still O randomly, and keep BD regularly.

Please let us know how it goes for you. Just know you're not walking this road alone.

Thank you for your response Leemom2
I went to the doctors last week to see my primary doctor and explain to her what is going on with me and she said that she wouldn't give me any supplements and I should see a "Specialist" I don't have the money and my insurance doesn't pay for it. I'm waiting for af to arrive so I can take that FSH test on d3 but for whatever reason, she isn't coming or she is taking her time. (I'm not pregnant) just 4 days late. I am never late so I can only guess I am stressing myself out. Do you have any children, I hope you don't mind me asking?

I am very blessed. I have 2 step children (24 and 20) and 6 children I birthed. My "baby" is 3 1/2 and is a vasectomy reversal baby. Oddly enough, because I had a terribly complicated pregnancy with him, my husband decided to have a 2nd vasectomy when the baby was 2 months old. When he turned 10 months old he was diagnosed with a very rare genetic abnormality. Right away we started looking for a way to reverse the vasectomy again. This time we decided to put it on his insurance since all previous procedures were paid OOP. It took over a year for the approval and surgery. It was done last May. Last June I had my first CD 3 FSH test run, and you know the rest of the story. Since I was 39 when symptoms began I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure (post menopause), but it was later changed to a diagnosis of perimenopause. They estimate I have about 2,000 eggs left, so keep on trying. Easy for them to say. Every DAY of my cycle I obsess over. If not for my son's disabilities (he would benefit so much from a baby sibling) I wouldn't be so stressed over the ticking clock.

I'll try to link to a pic of my family...

My step children aren't in this shot.

We haven't had a followup SA since his initial one came back "hundreds of millions" whole and good morph and mort. His VRS said there wasn't any sense in spending more money on more SA's since it was so good.

Thanks for the kind comments : ) I wish my ovaries looked as young as I do LOL!

Noah is doing well. He is nonverbal, but he signs a little. He can hear, but has apraxia and processes language poorly. His receptive is better than his expressive communiction. He is such a sweetheart. He is my husband and my only common child. My older 5 are with my EX husband. We so hope to give him a baby sibling, God willing.

Kelley, your family is beautiful. You look so young, and pretty too.

My lil guy is the love of my life, his disabilities are part of him, and he is perfect in every way : ) I had a real bad 24 hours when he was first diagnosed, based on fear. But I quickly started researching it, and making contact with other parents like us, and became proactive in learning how to help him achieve his highest potential, and simply be happy and filled with love.
