Icon11 Quick hello!

Hi Ladies!

Just a quick hello, hope everyone is doing well! if you read my post to Barb you will see that we are running out of usable computers LOL.

Anyhow our new RE says for us to try a medicated IUI ASAP, and then move on to our donor if BFN's.
So on goes the baby battle...........

I am still waiting for AF to start new (first) IVF cycle so I am not sure whether we will go IVF or IUI first.

I am going to pray about it.......however we are all paid up at the IVF clinic DANG!!!!!!

Hang in there!!!!

Can't hurt to try Missy. I'm curious as to his reasoning though. Haven't you done IUI previously? Or am I mistaken?

Barb, sorry the meds have gotten to you. Let us continue to pray. You are so close now. Hang in there.

Icon12 Re: Quick hello! LONG POST LOL

Jacq, the first RE I saw did a clomid challenge and said in oct 2005 that i had a level of FSH 14 - he did not want to ivf as I was discriminated against my hep c status and CDN laws don't allow storage in their cyro banks..

So he told me to move on with donor eggs and that we wold have the best success rate. In nov 2005 I got pg which resulted in a blighted ovum and then a missed m/c Jan 2006 and then stat d/c in April 2006.
At that time I felt I had no other choice but to go to extreme measures and go for de. Hence Cooper came into place.

This RE is very proactive and does not discriminate although he cannot fo IVF with my own eggs he thinks I may have a chance still with my own doing IUI, funny thing the doctor in NJ said the same thing although they did offer my IVF using my own eggs as their laws are different.

So the game plan is go to NJ and do the transfer and use up all viable embryo's if BFN we move on IUI and then if BFN move on to our sole donor. Time frame to ER for sole donor probably late summer early fall.
We will do a clomid challenge and if I am growing follies we will move to an IUI that cycle immediately.
We are also looking at male factor cos Mark has never had any live births, up to now. He has to do a sperm donation for a motility count etc, he wasn't to thrilled LOLOLOLOL

In fact the clinic is called Southern Ontario Fertility Clinic if you google it you can see how Dr. martin has treated HIV discordant couples with perfect live births that are HIV negative. he is a wonderful man with a great personality.
The other nice thing is that ,most of all we are receiving is FREE with Ontario health care and we get to try for bio child!!! So as you can see he is willing to try for what we really wanted to begin with for a fraction of the price as some things are not covered, and he is also willing tom bring our embryo's up to Canada although I don't we can.

So we have a few more options and I think we all the back up plans we have a pretty good chance at getting a BFP EVENTUALLY :-)
I am not as worried and stressed as I once was.

I just finished paying off the entire cycle for NJ and we are ready to move on, with the upcoming cycle.

It was ALOT of money but the journey has been worth it, no matter what the outcome.

The investigative reporter is making air flight plans to co,me and interview our family and THAT is stressing me LOL - she is also coming with me to NJ as you know.

As I am on paid medical leave until Dec 2007 I hope to get all this fertility crap out ,my system by then and let well enough alone, perhaps we will still get a miracle - we are having unprotected bd this cycle LOLOLOLOL

Dr. Martin is VERY supportive of us, and willing to move ahead with us no matter what the circumstances, which of course is the OPPOSITE of of our past RE - and that terrible experience.

We now have 3 computers up and running and so hopefully the kids will let me on once in awhile LOL

I appreciate all your support as well as all the ladies here and ya'll have saved me many time from deep depression and self pity LOL

We are trying to get an ebay store started for all the special needs equipment that Christian has outgrown and put the $ towards his future JK (school ) equipment he will be needing for Sept. If you know of anyone that is need of anything for sp needs pls email @ honor@pppoe.ca this all goes to charity (not for profit)

DH are going to counselling as his religoius beliefs and his family aren't too supportive but we are making progress which is a relief. Family can make it difficult thats for sure!!!!

ANYHOW too long of a post !!

Miss yall

Melissa,

Good luck with the IVF but in the event you try IUI I just wanted to say I've used a clomid & gonal F combo with pretty good results. 5 days of clomid and 2 days of Gonal F, my RE though the clomid only would make my eggs unpenatrable (okay probably spelled that wrong but it's late and I'm trying to catch up

So it sounds like you have quite a few viable options Melissa. I don't see how you cannot be announcing a BFP before too long. This RE really sounds like a very positve guy. That's what you need.
I hope your counseling sessions continue to be fruitful. It's really nice when you can all be on the same page.
