Home from u/s!
I went to the maternal fetal medicine doctor today to have my 1st trimester screening. The ultrasound part was so terrific. The baby was asleep in the beginning, with its fists up by its face. She jiggled my belly around to wake him up He kept looking straight at us which was great for me, but made it tough for the doctor to see the nuchal fold..lol She did find it eventually, and said it looked really good, thin. She kept saying the baby looked 'terrific', which just put this permanent smile on my face throughout the u/s. I didn't even ask about gender and she didn't look, so we'll just have to wait till I'm 16weeks, which is fine (they'll be more certain then anyway). She sent me home with 8 pictures of the baby, one funny skeleton looking face and some other really terrific profiles. One shows its cute little ears from the back. I'm really happy. It looks like all is well and baby is doing fine. I'll find out next week what the results of the blood work are and the assessment of my risk. Another hurdle down, closer to my goal!!!
xoxo

Re: Home from u/s!
Oh Lori, I'm so glad everything looks good! Isn't it funny that no matter how many times you've been on that us table it's just as thrilling as the first? Best of luck for healthy and safe pregnancy and delivery.

Re: Home from u/s!
Lori that's fantastic!
I had 5 u/s with Cooper and I never got tired of hearing "everything looks great" or "he looks just fine". And isn't the skeleton looking face pic hilarious?! I remember I kept thinking "I hope he's cuter than that when he comes out!"
Congratulations on your wonderful news! Can't wait for the next update to see if it's a boy or girl!

Where did I come from?" the baby asked its mother. She answered, half-crying, half-laughing, and clasping the baby to her breast: "You were hidden in my heart as its desire, my darling. You were in the dolls of all my childhood games. In all my hopes and my loves, in my life, in the life of my mother, and in her mother before her, you have lived."
