Default u/s today (pg. ment.)

I went in to my Dr.'s for an unltrasound because I am just feeling way too "psycho" about this pregnancy. He was great and prepared me before the scan that it may be early and we'll only see a sac. Well the scan showed a "nice sac" as he put it. And an underlining or something where he could see where the veins feed into the soon to placenta. So I left feeling just as worried but he said for me to come back next Monday to see if we can see something then! Has anyone else had experience with early scans and at what point did you see a fetal pole or something!?? I'm 5wks 6days today. I am praying so hard! My last pregnancy was a blight ovum and I went in at 8 wks to see a yolk sac and that's it..So I'm just terrified! I want this so badly! Please keep me in your thoughts! Thanks a bunch!

Hey there,
It's going to be ok. If the doctor is happy than all is well because trust me these doctors waste no time in giving you the bad news if there is any to be had. Each pregnancy is different so don't even bother comparing yours with others or some statistic on the internet. Just lie back and enjoy the nausea.

I didn't go in for my first u/s until 7w3d and then we could see the heart beat. Other than that all we could see was a little bean shape inside a sac. I didn't think you could see much more than a sac at this point. My RE told me that early on the most reliable indicator of a good pregnancy was the betas and yours look great!

Take care.

Sweetie, it's still very early. Plenty of women dont' see heartbeats until late in the 6th or even into the 7th week, with more than one example not popping up until the 8th. Don't you worry, sweetpea. This one's a keeper!

Hang in there and try not to worry. I believe that this one is a keeper. The betas are fantastic! I have an u/s at 5w/1 day and the only thing we saw was a sac, but thats all that was expected at that point. You are fine, your bean is fine
