Tom Cruise and other news
Ok, so Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are with child. That didn't take long, which means there was nothing wrong with Tommy's bullets after all. Which means it was Kidman who had trouble conceiving. But, didn't she have a miscarriage round about the time, they divorced. Now this is just conjecture on my part, but I think part of the reason for the split must have been because Nicole must have turned to Assisted Reproduction to help her along. Maybe that was what the rift was all about, given Tommy's Scientology beliefs. No, Tommy vitamins and exercise can't really get you pregnant if you have a problem.
Oh, and apparently according to the "Scientology Gospel of Myriad Ridiculous Beliefs", women aren't allowed to scream during child birth (and talk for 8 days thereafter) nor have any drugs to help them along. Wow, Katie, have you really thought about this? Pushing through an 8 pound baby isn't as easy as riding on Tommy's bike, you know?
In other news, some State or other has decided to debate on or push through legislation that would ban single women and gay couples for getting ivf treatment. OK, I see that as three violations in one. This legislation, would deny people the right to be single, the right to be gay and the right to bear a child regardless of one's marital status or sexual inclination. Are we steadily moving back in time. What next, single women and gay couples not to be served in restaurants?
So how are you all doing. My mum left two days ago and life seems like an avalanche of chaos. Just trying to dredge through it. And oh, DH is getting on my every nerve.

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
WOW!! Elisabeth, you're potent today.
Well, I'm cynical. just because she's pg, to me (and I don't like Tommy so it's probably why I'm having such evil thoughts) it could mean that there was help from another source. Donor or even an embryo adoption. I just refuse to give him credit. I treat it very much like Michael Jackson claiming he fathered those kids. Yeah right! Besides, it would just be one more in my list of "You allow him to reproduce and deny ME???"
I think it would be awful for such a move to be made on the IVF front. It's not for us to judge or decide. But too many on either side refuse to be logical about such things.
I'm sorry DH is annoying you. Have you guys thought about getting counseling for how to share the new responsibilities? Would he consider it? Is it because of the baby or in "other than baby" ways?
And How is Miss Lallie doing???

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Hey Dee, I really miss you guys. I do read all the messages though and am keeping a beady eye on you. Yeah, DH is being a pain in the butt but so am I. It's been exhausting and DH seems to have retreated into a ocean cave even crabs couldn't easily find. Well, hopefully time will sort out the madness that is currently our house. You take care now.

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Those first few months are really really rough. Both my DH and I felt like the other wasn't doing enough from time to time. It was exhausting. But it does get easier. We eventually thought of ourselves as being in baby bootcamp! We ended up negotiating a lot of things, like he would get up friday, sat and wed nights and I would do the rest of the nights. Then I found I didn't mind getting up at 2 am but I had a much harder time with 6 am. So he would get up for the early morning wakings and I would sleep in. Of course lately she has been sleeping in until 7:30 to 8 am so DH is off the hook!
No screaming and no drugs during childbirth??!!!!! Who are they kidding? What kind of man would put his wife though that and quite frankly what kind of women would put up with that kind of crap? Obviously not Nicole.
Actually I've heard that sometimes that both the man and the women to be just incompatible fertility-wise. It is possible that Nicole could hook up with some other guy that gets her preggo especially if the whole scientology thing prevented them from getting any kind of fertilty treatments (other than vitamins and exercise of course!).

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
We're exhausted here as well. I was going to try to fool around (yes, I'm healed) last night, but the day was just soooo exhausting after finding out that I need to have my gallbladder removed and dealing with a newborn and an stubborn 4yr old all at the same time. Needless to say, our boudoir has seen no action in months! LOL And, on top of that, I don't think Mari takes well to my eating broccoli as she screamed all night long as she was kicking her legs.
With all this, I'm still the happiest I've ever been. Call me a fool. I like being here.

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Jilda, you said it. I can certainly relate to that "I do more than you" feeling. The crux of most of our problems.
Susan, I had my gall bladder removed some years ago. The best thing I ever did. The pain I used to get when a stone got stuck in the ducts was like labour x 10. Girl, my chambre hasn't seen action in OVER a year. Can you believe it?

Re: Katie & Tom--I thought I'd heard somewhere that she wanted to be a virgin on her wedding night--guess he talked her out of that, huh?! Or maybe it was immaculate conception! I hope she doesn't have any PPD--load her up on vitamins & exercise!! That will prevent it!

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Just adding my 2 cents. Remember Tommy was married to Mimi Rogers before Nicole and apparently they broke up because of fertility issues. She got pg right after she got married again, so who knows what the issues really were afterall we don't know what goes on behind closed doors but it looks like she got pg boom boom. My guess is his 'beliefs' don't allow for to much in the assisted reproduction area. I just don't buy the whole thing...but whatever. I wish her luck with it all. Having a "hubby" like that isn't going to be easy as her pg progresses and she goes into labour - Lord help her! Not to mention if she gets post partum - look out.

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Yep, I sure remember Mimi Rogers. She was gorgeous back in her hey days. I sometimes look at her and think if they were still together, that's what they'd look like as a couple. Instead he's with a puppy dog. Wow! Men really do regress as they grow older.

Re: Tom Cruise and other news
Not a fan of Tom on many levels (my son has ADD and meds have taken him from failing to being a straight A student). I think it isn't his. There are many rumours that he likes boys. My dentist's husband is in the film industry and she said that Nicole's preg. before the divorce wasn't Tom's. Nicole likes a lot of boys.
I been there with I am doing more than you jazz. Now I try to get out one night a week with friends or by myself, whether I think I need or not. Dh and I DTD four times this week. I think we didn't do it four times since before we got Fenway.
Sorry I haven't been around just really busy.
