Icon5 Ovulating

Hi all
I had a MC 1/21 and have had 2 AF's. My 1st cycle was 28 days and my 2nd cycle was only 21 days with spotting for 5 days in the middle. I have been using OPKs but it seems that I never ovulated this month. I do have the normal range of CM and am at the egg white stage now.
Is it possible that I did not ovulate this month?
Thanks a bunch!!!
Judi

Default Re: Ovulating

Hi Judi,

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how heartbreaking it is.

As for your question: The M/C may have messed with your cycles a bit. With the first cycle, sounds like that was pretty much normal. As for the second, it sounds like you ovulated very early. Perhaps too early to catch it with an OPK since we normally don't start those until CD10 or even 11.

If you are experiencing ewcm now, it could be that you DID O, but because we still have estrogen in our system even after O, you may be seeing some EWCM. OR (And I think this one is more likely) you are preparing to O right now. I would get busy just to make sure my bases are covered. And see what the OPK tells you.

My suggestions for the next few months: Use FertilityFriend to chart. I know that that is about impossible with a baby in the house. But you could try this - Every night at the exact same time, lie down and completely relax for about 15 minutes. Take your temp and chart it. This will not be anywhere as accurate as doing the first morning temp, but it will be enough to give you a pattern, which is really all you need. You should still be able to see that thermal shift. Tell DH to hand over the remote and watch the baby for those 15 minutes.

And if this doesn't work, my next suggestion (albeit a pricey one) is to use a fertility monitor to try and catch O. You can use FMU, and you have a window of three hours to either side of your normal wake up time where you can use it. So, if you normally wake up at 6, that would be when you use it, but you can do so even as early as three (for those night sessions with the baby) or as late as 9 (for when Dh surprises you and lets you sleep in).

Good Luck Judi!!!
