Icon11 Kinda shakey, but still determined

I had my D&C this past week, so there's no more waiting. When i was waking up from the anesthesia, i just remember saying over and over that my baby was gone. I try not to think about it too much now. That way i can sort of coast along, and start planning for the next chance. I just have to be careful. Every now and then, it just hits and i start crying and i just can't stop.

I thought a d&c wasn't supposed to be too hard on the body, but i've been feeling horrible. It's been 4 days, and today is the first day i have been awake continuously for more than just 2-3hrs at a time. Even last night, i had been sitting for just a few min., and when i went to stand up, it was like having someone stick a knife in my gut. A couple of strangers standing nearby looked like they were ready to rush over and catch me if i fell. Isn't it supposed to be getting better by now?

I would appreciate input from anyone else who's had one in the past. Also, i'd like to know if others had major dreams. I've been waking up about ever 2 hours since i got home(every30-45min the first afternoon), and i have tons of dreams. Every time i close my eyes, i end up with another feature length dream packed with details. It's like every time i close my eyes, some cosmic entity pops in another randomly chosen dvd.

I'm winding down and my headaches are back, so it's about time to find out what the next slumberous entertainment will be. Likely i will be showing up here a bit randomly for a while, sometimes with long breaks in between.

I had two d&c with my first two losses and yes, although I felt fine that day, I was out of sorts for a few days physically. Then the emotional aspect of it all hit me as well. As far as the pain in your gut, keep an eye on it as you might have an infection.

Big hugs to you. This is rough and if you need to talk, we (I) are all here.

Susan

Just wanted to say, hang in there....I miscarried back in January but I didn't need a d&c. I would definitely call the doctor if the severe pain stays or gets worse....and call immediately if you have a fever. We're all here for ya if you need to vent or express yourself...hope you feel better soon!

I had two mc with D&C, and both times I felt as out of sorts as you describe. I believe it is as much emotional as physical.

I have heard of many women getting pregnant and carrying to term very quickly following a D&C, so keep on truckin'!

Hi Jess:
I've not had a D&C, so I can't help there, but I definitely had dreams/nightmares for months after Ella's diagnosis and beyond her death. It was so disturbing, because sleep was my only hope at respite/escape, and the pain even followed me there. I hope that you're able to find yourself in a different place soon. I'm so sorry about all of this. I wish I had better words to share.
