Default Hi

I'm 38 and trying for my first.
My guy and I have been together for 12 years and we've decided that we will never have 'the right time' so we're just going to go for it.

I'm both scared and excited.
Like I said, my guy and I have been together 12 years and we've never actively tried, but then we haven't actively not tried either. I use NFP (natural family planning...not the rhythm method) birth control and we've been pretty careful. I get cramps when I ovulate so we simply have not had unprotected sex between the time I menstrate and ovulate.
Part of me wants to believe we've been careful, but part of me is scared we have fertility issues.
My first OBGYN appointment is on the 19th.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm so glad I'm not the only 35+ year old trying to concieve #1.

Charting...I'm not sure it would work with me because my ycle legnth varies. Sometimes it's 20 days and sometimes it's 26 days.

Actually, if your cycle varies, charting should help you time things properly, so you can figure out when you're ovulating, and... when you can test.

Most of us use FertilityFriend.com It's easy to use and it's free. And that way you can link your chart in your siggy and we can all obsess together! (If you click on our tickers, you can see our charts too.)

Wouldn't it be fantastic if we all got our s for #1 by the end of the year?

I use Advanced Woman's Calendar 1.3 and most times I find that I have ovulation cramps at different times then the calendar says I'm ovulating.

I think those ovulation test kits would really help me out. I've also started taking my temp in the mornings.

I tried the ovulation test kits for the first time this month. They seem to be pretty easy to read. I used First Response. I guess I'll have to wait a bit longer to find out whether they help!

Where are you at in your cycle? Are you waiting to ovulate, or are you in the two week wait?

Hoping your stay here is short and sweet!
