Jew or Gentile, Christian or Muslim. The truth is that regardless as to what or who we keep our faith in, the ultimate connection is that we all believe in peace, love and joy.
So, while I bow my head down in Christian faith, I hope that all of us regardless as to religion or spiritual bent, will also share these thoughts:
Dearest and Heavenly Father,
Our faith has been sorely tested this year. Amidst the anguish of losses and pain and misery, it's been difficult to continue the path. But we have. For we have been taught and shown that maintaining the faith shall reward.
You have blessed us in so many ways, and for that we are grateful. But, Father, we are only human. For all the blessings we know we have, it's the blessing we DON'T have is that weighing heavily upon our hearts. This emptiness is so huge and deep. It's pain haunts us unendingly. But You are the one who put this hunger within us, so I know that it isn't wrong for us to have such a strong desire for a baby. One baby. Any baby.
For many of us there have been no babies. And for others, the incredible, unbearable heartbreak of being allowed to taste of the promise only to have it taken away.
So, Father, thank You for what You have given us, but I selfishly ask for myself and everyone here, that You please place Your hands upon our wombs, heal our uteruses, renew our eggs, cure us of anything that causes these obstacles and allow us this miracle that You have made possible. I know You are NOT denying us this great treasure, but with You all things are possible. You have said "Ask and it shall be given". So Father, I am asking. I am praying. I am begging.
Look upon these women here today. Beautiful, strong, amazing and loving. When we define the word "Mother" it is with these women in mind. Help us Lord. Reach into us and around us and make us whole. And may this coming year bring us to testify about Your greatness, and that we may hold up our babies as to allow witness to that greatness.
I thank You and ask this in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen!
Merry Christmas Ladies. Blessings upon us all!!
