Hello. I found out on Wed, Apr 9 that my DH and I finally got the BFP. We have been trying for almost 2 years and this was our 3rd ART cycle on injectibles. On Wed, my Hcg level was 199 and when I went back to the Doc's office on Friday, Apr 11 my Hcg only went to 247 and my progesterone looked good at 70. Now I'm majorly stressed! I will be going back to the Doc on Mon, Apr 14 for another check. I was having some good preg symptoms, full breasts, gas, cramps, tired and hungry a lot and now the cramps are gone, not really any gas, breasts still sore but don't seem as full, and I am just scared this may mean I will miscarry. I am only 15 DPO, so perhaps its too soon to get bad preg symptoms. I haven't bled at all yet, but am thinking that maybe it would be too soon for that to happen (as I normally wouldn't have my period until this Tues.

Does anyone have any preg success stories even tho their Hcg levels were off? I can't help but feel devastated.

I haven't had that experience with hcg #'s but I just wanted to wish you the best of luck at your next appointment. Has your doc expressed any concern about the #'s? Sometimes beta #'s dont' follow the "norm" and pregnancies turn out perfectly fine. And symptoms or lack there of aren't always a good indication of pregnancy or miscarriage either. Try to take it easy and keep us posted after your appointment.

So the hcg only went to 263 today. Not good news. I've been told they need to double (or at a min go up 60%) in 48 hours in order for a pregnancy to be viable. Progesterone was still good, but down to 27. I am on suppositories so that may be part of it.

I am supposed to go into the doc again Wed (I have lost hope already) to do a triple check on the #'s. If they don't look good again, the doc wants to do methotrexate. I'm a little concerned about the drug...sounds very strong, I mean its a cancer drug. I am a little scared about ectopic tho too. I'd hate to not take the drug and then have to have surgery. Do you have any experience with that?

We're trying to decide what we'll do for our next try. If this was ectopic, I'd carry high risk for another one so I'd prefer IVF. But IUI is so much cheaper. I have to say that I'm getting pretty impatient tho and want to go for IVF. How did you decide what to do?

Also, I see you have been thru a miscarriage. I am struggling with my emotions right now. I def wasn't as far along, but am very sad. My hubby doesn't seem too bothered, although I know he cares. I have friends that don't have any fertility issues and I cry at the sight of anything baby. This is such a rollercoaster!

Good luck at your Wednesday appointment. There is still hope. I've seen some wacky (unexpected...but good) things happen on this website over the past few years! If you want you can post on the IVF board too. Lots of people to offer you advice there and there have been people who've had ectopic pregnancies as well.
I didn't have experience with taking any drugs prior to the D&C when I miscarried. I was at about 8 1/2 weeks and went in and the baby's heart had stopped beating. So I went in the next day and had a D&C. The procedure hurt (I've had 2 other surgeries) but it wasn't too bad. It was more of an emotional thing for me. My husband was also very upset but he recovered alot more quickly than I did. He actually said a few months ago that he's not sad about it anymore....which is totally fine but I am still sad (my due date was May 3rd which is coming up). Baby things and other people with babies are definately depressing. I have 4 sisters and 2 of them have gotten pregnant since my m/c. OF course I was happy but also devastated (especially when my sister started talking about using a baby name I liked for her son due in July).
Yes this IVF result being positive has definately helped but I'm more of a nervous wreck than last time. Hopefully the #'s keep climbing.
I had my 3 IUIs at one specialist. Then I had a surgery for my endometriosis. When I went back to her she wanted to just put me on Clomid again for 6 months..not even with IUI...I totally bugged out b/c they just weren't working. I went to another specialist and he found what he thought was a blocked fallopian tube (which turned out to be a twisted tube around the ovary and some scarring). So he was the one who suggested IVF. I was extremely nervous about it and of course the expense scared me too (my insurance and now my husband's insurance doesn't cover anything). But it's been the only thing so far that gets me pregnant so that's why I'm sticking with it.
And see a specialist if you can....you will be definately happy you did.

I'm so sorry about your m/c. I feel somewhat lucky that this was detected early. Only 2 days of excitement, not months.

So today's levels just came back. 410. So they're still going up, but nurse said she is not optimistic and has never seen a successful pregnancy with levels/rates like these. I'm going back on Fri for u/s (yeah! thanks tai) and another hcg level. I'm still not optimistic. Just hoping its not in my tubes. We'll see tho.

I'm ok. I guess just taking it one day at a time. We are just so ready to have a family...I just never thought it would be this hard. U/S on Fri showed a tubal pregnancy so went in for methotrexate that day. Found out I was RH neg too, so had to get the rhogam shot. System is still messed up and sounds like it'll be awhile before everything physically feels normal again.
