Super Miffed

OK, so i called to schedule my dates for IUI and they informed me that I need a rubella shot!

He mentioned that I should get one but I didn't walk out of there thinking anything beyond that. UGH, I could spit. Now we are put off until October.

Why wouldn't me OBGYN have mentioned that when I first started TTC?!

UGH!!!!! I was so hoping you'd be cycle buddies with me and Janay! Darn Dr.!

I can't remember because it's been soooooo long ago since I started TTC but I think I had to have one or maybe it was a Hep. B injection. I can't remember!

Well, if I get to do an IUI next cycle and I don't get pg, you can be my cycle buddy then! (Because I know Janay will get that this IVF cycle!) And Angie will also be our cycle buddy so you'll be in a lot of good company!

That's frustrating to say the least! I had the same worries at one time, but didn't end up needing it.

Teece...I just looked up the Rubella thing because it was bugging me (and I'm second guessing myself about whether I had one or not or if we checked for that prior to TTC).

Here is a link:

So, I guess it makes sense. But I really don't know why they didn't give you one there or have you get one at your family practioner, especially if they planned on doing IUI this cycle.

Wow, they really should have told you to get one right away! I was tested on my first RE visit and they told me right then that if I didn't have the antibodies that I would have to go get a shot asap. Luckily I do have the antibodies, but I would be so mad if I were you too.

How long do you have to wait after the shot to TTC? Can't you go to your GP and get one and still make it this cycle? I have no idea about that kind of stuff. Maybe they need you to get the shot and then wait a cycle for it to "take"
