That's a great number. I think my highest number was about 23 on clomid, and that was just once.

Hmm, I don't remember mine. But I'd agree 50 is great.

I just had my second draw today of a "3-day progesterone screening." I have my 3rd and final draw next Monday and then I'll find out the results the following week from my Gyn. My husband and I have been TTC since August 2007, and I started charting last June. I have only had 3 potentially ovulatory cycles, and my anov cycles range from 17 to 50 days long (more in the 17-22 day range). My Gyn always called me "low estrogen" based on other symptoms before we were charting or TTC, however, she never ran any tests.

I am curious what you other ladies have been through before your doctors finally did order hormonal screening blood work? This is the first time my doctor has even suggested any testing of any sort to figure out what is up.

So... My GYN's nurse FINALLY called me back and was given permission to tell me the results. My 6DPO progesterone was NORMAL at 12!! However, it was down to 6 by 7DPO, and I started my AF 2 days later. It was actually a relatively long LP and cycle for me, and the first time I Oed since December. So, with the confirmation that I did in fact O, I suspect the 8-day weird gushy AF this cycle was possibly because of a VERY short-lived CP.

So, my P levels are at least good for a few days post-O on the rare cycle that I actually O.

Your lp at 8-9 days is long for you?

I didn't have any special hormonal screening blood work other than typical infertily b/w which was done before I was given clomid.

What does your doctor say about your short lp? Will he prescribe progesterone supplements? My RE never monitored progesterone levels after the first one at 7dpo. He felt that levels can vary so much from day to day and time to time that it wouldn't help in my situation. So, I can't give you my experience with levels dropping before the end of the cycle.

It sounds like clomid is doing the job getting you to ovulate.

Was that directed at me? If so, I am unmedicated. No Clomid here. and... YEP an 8 day LP is LONG for me. :-( My GYN never called me back and her nurses were rude and useless. They told me that her notes said the test results were "inconclusive" and that I'd need to somehow magically have a longer cycle so they can get all three draws to tell them anything. I tried to explain to the nurse that this is as good as they get for me. I have been charting for over 11 months now and that is as good as they come. Most cycles I don't even ovulate. I explained to the doctor in December that we are TTC and that is why I wanted some tests done. She is who suggested which tests to do, and seemed to understand my situation at the time. I was VERY upset after talking to that nurse. She basically made me feel like either she never really talked to the doctor at all, or the doctor hadn't taken any notes at our December appointment and had forgotten why she ordered the tests in the first place.

I will be calling back on Monday, and will likely then be seeking out a new doctor and practice. I tried to once before last year and the recommended practice had a HUGE waiting list with appointments MONTHS out and most doctors weren't even accepting new non-pregnant patients. That does oh so much good to those of us who are having trouble TTC though huh? :-(

Oops. Sorry, wrong person! I went back to the original post.

I would be frustrated also. If you have been charting for that long, have you considered seeing an RE? They are the experts. Sometimes I don't think ob/gyns worry too much. They are too busy. I really think some of them just have a different perspective than an RE. The REs are there to get you pg. and will make the time.

Good luck!
