Default Newbie with a CM question -- maybe TMI

I think most are pretty seasoned to all things CM...but just in case. Actually, I guess the question isn't gross so much as strange...can taking Robitussin MAKE you have EWCM even if you're not technically in the fertile time? I am VERY new at this. So new in fact that I just learned about the whole CM thing (and all these many abbreviations) about two weeks ago...so pretty much every day I think I have EWCM and I ask, cajole and otherwise coerce DH into BD. He's been quite a trooper! .

Then I read about the whole robitussin thing on FF--it totally fascinated me just from a science perspective. So I tried it and now I can't tell if I've o'ed and it's just the gufasein giving me the EWCM or if it's possible I still haven't O'ed. I've been wrong for about a week about whether I have EWCM but yesterday and today it's definitely been EWCM. I just don't know if it's me or the cough syrup. I'm on CD 12 of what was a 29-day cycle last month (I haven't been off the pill that long so I can't say with any certainty how long my cy is).

TIA! I've been lurking for a while; you all seem very helpful.

I have heard about the Robitussin thing also, and I have thought about trying it. I can't answer you question, but I am curiously also on how it all works.....keep me posted on what you find out!

If you are just figuring out your cycles, I would lay off the Robitussin for now. Go through 2-3 cycles and see if you are getting CM during your fertile times.

Also, if you are DTD frequently, you might thinking some of that could be EWCM.

Thanks to both of you.

Jessica, the little I do know came from FF but if I learn any more in subsequent "experiments" I'll definitely post it.

SmittyJr, you are correct. I will lay off the cough syrup until I have a better sense of my cy.

!

I can't answer the Robtussin question as I've never tried it! Teece is right, though...I'd just see how your cycles pan out for a couple or three before trying anything!

I am new but thought I would post. The cough syrup will not produce the CM mucus....only thin it. Some women only have thick CM and they use it to get the consistency. Just like it thins the secretions when you have a head cold. I agree with the others though..Try some cycles on your own first.

Hope that helps.

Hi!

Sorry I'm late posting about this.

Typically women who are on medicated cycles, i.e Clomid, try Robitussin because Clomid has a tendency to dry up cm at higher doses.

Good luck!!!!
