I woke up this morning about 5am and felt a gush but didn't think too much about it as the progesterone causes me to leak here and there. I went back to sleep and woke up at 6:50am to go pee. I noticed brown blood (lots of it) on my pantyliner. Totally freaked me out!

I yelled for DH and he came in and almost

and passed out and we were thinking the worst. I grabbed my doppler and immediately checked for a

and found it with no problem.

I called the OB at 8am and they got me right in.

I had a pelvic exam and it showed my cervix was closed but I had a few small clots covering it. He done an u/s and it showed the baby, which is fine and his/her little heart is beating away.

Turns out I have placenta previa...

. He is hoping it moves and won't be a problem but for now I'm back on bedrest until my next scheduled appt which is Tuesday with my regular OB. We'll decide then what to do. In the meantime, no lifting, no sex (poor DH...I've been putting him off every since I got pg because I've had this feeling not to bd), basically just bedrest.

The spotting has slowed to almost nothing so that's good. Send some extra

that this resolves (usually around 20 weeks the placenta will move enough that it's not a problem).

Kelli- Yes, take it easy girlie! I did some readying and it sounds like a normal abnormality and it will probably move toward the uterus as you progress.

And don't over-do the online research! Too much stress and the baby will know you are stressed.

Teece...yep, the Dr. I saw today didnt' seem too worried. He said I could have cancelled my appt for this Tuesday with my regular dr. and reschedule for 2 weeks or just keep my appt...I choose to keep my appt. I'm thinking I'm gonna ask to be taken off work completely. (it's been horrible again at work lately and it's not helping me any.) I'm not researching too much...seems like it's more of a problem in late pregancy and with delivery...if it's still there when I deliever, I'll have to have c-section.

I think it is pretty common and usually goes away as the pregnancy progresses.

Kelli....yes I think that the stress from work is not helping much so maybe you can take disability for the rest of your pregnancy. Keeping you on my prayers until this little bundle come in Aug. Don't worry too much about anything now just take it easy and rest a lot.
