Default Looking for help with a Clear Plan Easy Fertility Monitor

Hello all. I am looking for information regarding my monitor. I used it last month for the first time and kept using the sticks on days 10-16 and on day 16 the monitor detected O, but this month the monitor has not even asked for a stick nor has the predictor level gone up. I am day 16 TODAY this month????? It is still on the first bar. I know that I cannot just use a stick because the monitor will reject it. My cycles are all over the place and I need this monitor to work. HELP. I cannot wait to just start ovulation induction and stop with all of these at home giszmos.

THANK YOU for any and all help you can give me on this topic. Baby blessings and wishes to all.

HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY EVERYONE - MESHELL

It's still getting to know your cycles. It should still be asking for a stick, so if you are using it within the window it should accept it.

Do you watch the lines on the stick at all? They say you shouldn't, but it was helpful for me. I would often use them as opks, HOWEVER, I had used it for many cycles so I knew what the lines should look like for me. As a matter of fact, I only used sticks for my last cycle and thought I had missed a surge since I waited for a bit too long. After watching the sticks, I realized it was delayed O and sure enough the sticks caught O about 10 days later. The monitor can be goofy, but the sticks if you know what to look for are accurate IMO.

It's possible you aren't near ovulation yet so it hasn't detected anything. Could you get a few opks and try them? I used opks the first few cycles with my fm.

Dear Star622

The fm is not and has not asked for a stick at all this month and last month I tested positive for O on day 16. At first, I thought that the fm would ask for a stick today and it did not. Do you think that there is something wrong with the monitor? The only sticks I have are for the fm, no opks. Is there a way I can use the sticks that I have without buying more?

I have used to the opks and know how to tell if I am O because of the two blue lines, would that be the same for the sticks to use for the fm? Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Have a good one!! Meshell

Did you reset your fm during the window you want to test in within the first 5 days of your cycle? If so, it sounds like it isn't working correctly.

The fm sticks work differently than opks. They show an estrogen line and an lh line. From my experience, the estrogen was the line and gradually the lh would start to appear.

The catch is that your fm registers a peak when it detects a certain level on the lh. If you havent used it enough to know what the sticks look like then it may not be helpful. It doesn't necessarily mean a peak when the lines are the same or the lh is just a tad darker.

I think I had no problems reading the fm sticks since I charted and had learned my cycles pretty well as far as cm and cp etc. and I had used the fm for many cycles.

I think your best option is to get some opks so you don't miss O. If you want to use the fm sticks just for fun to compare to the opks then it wouldn't hurt to experiment. I would not rely on the fm sticks if you aren't familiar with them.

If you have the 1-800 number for the monitor, you may want to call and ask them about yours. I never had problems with mine, so I'm not familiar with all the things that it could do when acting up.
